Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose, get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hand in my father's glove

I run off where the drifts get deeper
Sleeping Beauty trips me with a frown
I hear a voice, "You must learn to stand up
For yourself 'cause I can't always be around"

He says, when you going to make up your mind?
When you going to love you as much as I do?
When you going to make up your mind?
'Cause things are going to change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Boys get discovered as winter melts
Flowers competing for the sun
Years go by and I'm here still waiting
Withering where some snowman was

Mirror, mirror, where's the crystal palace?
But I only can see myself
Skating around the truth who I am
But I know, dad, the ice is getting thin

When you going to make up your mind?
When you going to love you as much as I do?
When you going to make up your mind?
'Cause things are going to change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Hair is grey and the fires are burning
So many dreams on the shelf
You say I wanted you to be proud of me
I always wanted that myself

When you going to make up your mind?
When you going to love you as much as I do?
When you going to make up your mind?
'Cause things are going to change so fast
All the white horses have gone ahead
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Never change
All the white horses

Love TORI!!!!
I always hit next with this artist. Hate her voice and songs.
Wow, had to scroll down to see the first dick comment!

So here's one I guess. Whyyyy Tori? Why join the legion of mangled faces? I'm so pleased my missus hasn't done any of that mess.

Great album.
Always one of my favorite songs...and definitely my favorite Tori album

Pretty song and a sweet way to end the day. Thanks for playing good stuff, Bill.

Little Earthquakes remains my favorite Tori album. And this one of my favorite songs from that album.
Very fond memories of this first album and seeing Ms. Amos live on the very first night of her first tour. Delicious.

I'm not so sure I hear that, but that scenario seems kind of fun.  Maybe there's an illustrated storybook in the future, or at least a computer game.
The opening of this song sounded like Karla Bonoff playing the piano.

Ohhhh, Karla.

No it's not just you. Also because the whining is interminable it just SEEMS like it is 'always'.  The track is called winter because it feels about 3 months long and dead and cold

wtf is that out of breath singing style; supposed to mean that it's super deep or something?

I don't find it 'meandering'.
A little Mireille Mathieu would suit me well right now.

My favorite Tori Amos song.

Consider BOTH Tori & Kate are AMAZING in their own right!  And yes, Tori does acknowledge that Kate was one of her biggest inspirations and influences...."for the record." {#Laughing}

 Well said. {#Meditate}

The CD-EP that came out with this contained "Smells Like Teen Spirit," the Stones' "Angie," and Zep's "Thank You."  Great versions of those, I thought.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh...............

Tori Amos - Winter, Live At Montreux (91/92)

"These two concerts from Montreux in 1991 and 1992 catch Tori Amos right at the start of her solo career. The first from July 1991 was filmed a few months before the release of her "Little Earthquakes" album and the second from July 1992 followed a few months after. There is a fascinating progression from one year to the next as she grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, buoyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. Naturally most of the songs are taken from "Little Earthquakes" but there are also rare songs from her various EPs released across the two years which didn't make it onto the album including her distinctive takes on Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "Thank You" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".  "

The release date mentioned for this album is a little off. It should be 1992.
My favorite of hers.
Listening to music intently for over 40 years and this is my all-time favorite track by anybody, anywhere. Do you care? Probably not. But I do. And I appreciate RP for caring, too.
I'd forgotten that I actually liked Tori's music at one time; nice reminder.
Beautifully tragic.
Tori was the first artist I listened to that seriously freaked out my parents.  {#Devil_pimp}

My thoughts exactly.  The comparison must drive Tori Amos fans a little nuts, but all I can hear is Kate (sorry!)

Cripe!
Just crying to me.

If aliens come to earth and asking: "What is music?". I would play this song to define it.

I would love it if Tori did all those things. I can't get enough of her either! Bill you totally cracked me up reading this just now {#Roflol}

Can't believe it was 17 years ago that I sat down at the piano and first pecked this out.

Agreed. I love this song, and that is quite the exception for me.

Only room for one Tori in this world...genius
Little Earthquakes is about as perfect collection of tracks as has ever graced a compact disc. It's my favorite Tori CD and Winter is perhaps my favorite track although they're *all* good on this CD. She's magic.

Nate, you funny fellow. I like the humour. I'm partial to Tori's work, however.

I always rather liked this. Nothing since this album worked for me, but this track has a very evocative feel. The piano captured the feel of winter and the lyrics are powerful. Tori Amos is not for me now (musically), but with this album she was.
