I'm writing you this letter from some old hotel
I can feel the distance between us
From the Spanish Steps to the Liberty Bell
I know the angels have seen us, seen us, baby

They see you down on Seventh Avenue
While you're just hanging by a thread
And I'm sitting in a lonely room without a view
Wishing I was there with you instead

Won't you walk through this world with me
Walk through this world
Over the miles of mystery
Walk through this world with me

I'm staring out across the rooftops, baby
I've seen the writing on the wall
Heard a little bit of thunder at the seventh wonder
But everything is bound to rise and fall, that's all

Walk through this world with me
Walk through the world
Over the mountains and the shining sea
Walk through this world with me
Walk on, walk on, walk on

Let me get this ringing out of my ears
Let me get these stars out of my eyes
'Cause I just want to look back over all the years
With you right there standing by my side
Could you just

Walk through the world with me
Walk through the world
Over the miles of mystery
Walk through this world with me

Walk through the world with me
Walk through the world
Over the mountains and the shining sea, yeah
Walk through this world with me
Come on, now

Walk through the world
Walk through the world
Walk through the world

Walk through the world
Oh, yeah, yeah
Walk through this world with me
Come on baby
Walk through the world

Marc Cohn is a much better talent than this song demonstrates. 🙏
Touching sincere good song

His debut album was killer. This was a decent follow-up, I think. Marc sure had a scare, though, huh? I wonder how he's doing these days?

From Wikipedia:

On August 7, 2005, Cohn was shot in the head during an attempted carjacking in Denver, Colorado, while on a concert tour with Suzanne Vega. The bullet "barely missed Cohn's eye and lodged near his skull"

Cohn was hospitalized for observation but released after 8 hours, and is quoted as saying, "doctors told me I was the luckiest unlucky guy they had met in a long, long time."

A police spokesperson surmised that the car's windshield may have significantly impeded the bullet's force, and added: "Frankly, I can't tell you how he survived".
For a second there I thought iTunes had skipped to the next station.
He has a nice voice...

This is a great song! We used this song at the beginning of our wedding ceremony. Hiw style resembles Bruce Hornesby.
Instrumentation a little pop-y, but I still like it overall.
