They call me the breeze
I keep blowing down the road
They call me the breeze
I keep blowing down the road

I ain't got me nobody
I ain't carrying me no load

Ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no change in me
Ain't no change in the weather
Ain't no change in me

I ain't hidin' from nobody
Ain't nobody hidin' from me

I got that green light, babe
I got to keep moving on
I got that green light, babe
I got to keep moving on

I might go out to California
Might go down to Georgia
Might stay home

I always assumed this was a Lynard Skynard original.  I had no idea that their version was a cover.

JJ is always a secure value!

I can actually predict every single note of the lyrics even though I never heard this song before. And most of the guitar notes as well. This is why I really don't like most 12-bar blues. A computer could write & play this.
Yep! More J.J. Cale please 🤠yeehaw!
love this one! (had Lynard Skynards version on cassette in my funky CJ5 back in '79  : P )
this album is great and his 2nd "Really" kept the breeze blowing
.
just heard Bill's comments about this being one of those songs that paid JJ's bills
i read Cale's response to a question about others doing his songs and in TV commercials
he said "I don't mind it and I consider it a compliment and I especially like it when I walk out to the mailbox"

A Cool Little Ditty!

"sit on the porch without no shoes, pickin' the bass and singin' the blues"

Curiously not in rotation on RP.  Too obvious?

Eric Clapton and JJ Cale - "Call Me The Breeze" Live

"You can push the boundaries of theory and technical playing in jazz fusion, tear your soul out playing blues, blow your amps and eardrums with heavy rock, but nothing tears on the heartstings and gets you moving like some tulsa time, nothing. Thank you J.J. Cale for captivating the world with your wonderful vibe."    callycat23

"J.J. Cale has a band of top class. Even Mr. Clapton must do the best he can in that company. The drive of the band is sans pareil. "        JyHiable
