One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right
Hear the children crying (One love)
Hear the children crying (One heart)
Sayin', "Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Sayin', "Let's get together and feel all right."
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One love)
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own?
Believe me

One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning (One love)
So shall it be in the end (One heart)
Alright, "Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
"Let's get together and feel all right."
One more thing

Let's get together to fight this Holy Armageddon (One love)
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (One song)
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation

Sayin', "One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel all right."
I'm pleading to mankind (One love)
Oh, Lord (One heart) Whoa.

"Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right."
Let's get together and feel all right.
(Repeat)

Great song,  but a bit overplayed.

Actually 8 women, though I doubt he was counting.  Two others have claims.  I do think his accountants knew the number as they rolled out the checks each month.....
I was looking at this week's New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest (a waiter with three birds resting on his forearm talking to a couple at a table) when this song came on. Definitely a glitch in the matrix.

You clearly need to better explore Marley's library of music.

Two songs from Exodus in one sitting, oh boy RP
This album will always remind me of a beautiful feeling when you put the needle down at the beginning, and a few seconds later the magical intro of 'Natural Misty' starts.
I don't like reggae.

10.
Di man speak truth y'kno.

There are far better songs in his discography that rarely get airplay, and the ones that get play have been plaaaayyed, but this gets a 10 for the fact you can go anywhere in the world and people of all ages know this song. Its transcended music in a way and it makes most people happy when it's played.

It was written during the '76 elections in Jamaica when party violence between the JLP and PNP exploded as a result of the cold war divisions of democracy and socialism,  spreading from the emergent political garrison communities into middle class areas at the height of the cold war. My parents, like many of their generation fled from Jamaica to take up residence abroad. This song was partially a kind of response to what was going on then.

Try Ride Natty Ride
or
Babylon System
to get a sense of his deeper roots work,
and as always

Big up Jamaica!

I love this song and I love your comment Bill - it sure makes me happy.

Bullshit. Bet they say that about your posts though.
Had the extreme good fortune to see him, small venue, happy people!

No need to qualify:  Bob Marley was unquestionably a genius.  I'm glad this makes you happy, as it does me.

Yeah, it's called "style". What do you think Bob Dylan did? AC/DC? Ramones? Bach?! And thousands of others, actually!
It has been said that Bob Marley wrote one song and recorded it 1500 times.

Such a shame Bob is not with us.

How much wonderful music he would have produced if not taken so early?
Marley has to be seen to be valued - he has such a high energy level. Me thinks his songs are not that great, but his antics on stage are something to see and marveled.

Sitting here reading Chris Kornelis in Village Voice (July 9, '14) re: Bob M. and how this album posthumously made him a household name.  Interesting timing.

Wonderful song.

I never heard a song on RP that deserved a 1.  Nothing less than a 5 or 6 at least.  That is why this station is so awesome.  This ones a 10!
Still Amazing
Amazing how a complete musical stream basically leans on one person... Brilliant song though. 9/10
I feel like any minute some dude is going to say, "Visa. It's everywhere you want to be."

Love ya Bob, really do.  But JAH RHASTA this is too much!

Believe me

I'm guessing this means that if you speak against us (but who's us?), you're hopeless and doomed and hurting all mankind (with the possible exception of others like you) - but would like to hear any other interpretation. A nice song, but it's always curious that the response of enthusiasts to any questioning of this or any other reggae ballad is such a wall of flame. Love, peace and death to the infidels? Runs my hypocrisy meter off the scale. I do appreciate the concept of One Love, One Heart (as I understand it) - it's a worthy goal for the inhabitants of a planet.

Another great song from Bob.  What a talent!
{#Cool}Every time this song is heard, I feel broken hearts are amended world wide! Much love to all!

WORD.

Ok, I actually give it an 8, but that's a far cry from a 1.  I guess it takes all kinds though...

Over the top.
Right up there with Lennon's Imagine IMHO.  {#Good-vibes}

Good song + artist for tonight: like Obama, Bob had a white parent and a black parent.

Good use of commas! And you're right: who wants music that's supposed to make you feel good? Yuck. But that's a really strange comment coming from you, Mr. Moron. You've only given 2 songs a "10", and one of them was The Dead's "Ripple". If the Grateful Dead doesn't remind you of hippies, then I don't think you know what that word means. Oh wait, I forgot: you told us all you're a moron. Incidentally, in the 5 months since you praised the other 11 who were as sour on this tune as you, exactly one person has rated it a 1.
It's true. I rated it a 2 since there are worse songs.
There's a fine line between 'classic' and 'clichéd', and unfortunately this number has been so overplayed over the years that it's crossed over to the dark side. IMHO naturally :)
Never tire of this song. 9.

Your comment betrays your ignorance. Reggae has nothing to do with hippies, other than the fact that some of them enjoy and listen to it. Get a clue.
I like the ones with a little harder edge (...them belly full but we hungry...). 8
Although I am tired of hearing this song...it deserves a 9

They played this song all over the world on the millenium change. Lot of good it did. Constant war since then. Still a nice song though.
I have always enjoyed Bob Marley, but it's disappointing that few people that don't typically listen to reggae think that he's the only one out there.
Let's get together and feel alright...
I was just singing this song over the weekend while out Christmas shopping. It always makes me smile.

Amen to that! Musical or lyrical composition doesn't need to be complex to put forth a message as simple as love. This is brilliant and timeless, a true 10.
There's so much better Marley... still, it's following "Blackbird", so maybe it's a mini-"greatest hits" block.
Rest in peace Bob!
always a good tune
This song wears its message on its sleeve and doesn't try to be "clever". Some people call that simplistic, I call it honest. I've loved this song since I was a child and I'll love it forever. I'm upgrading it to a 10.
Title should be "One Love / People Get Ready". Don't forget that the verse is from Curtis Mayfield.
This may not be the product of a lyrical genuis or a master composer but it sure makes me happy when I hear it.
Never gets old....but come on, getting pretty granola this morning, aren't we...it's not Earth Day, is it?
Have to upload the original ska version by the Wailers someday.

We can respect each other as people without having to respect each other's creative output. I don't have a problem with Bob Marley the person.

Right on!!!
Yes it's a great song. But I must admit, I sort of dread (!) to hear it come on again, and again. Maybe it just needs a little rest.
This reminds me of my "Lost Weekend" where my friends and I listened to Legend over and over again on cassette tape, not getting up out of our hammocks at all for three days straight. I'm not exaggerating, even when it rained we just layed there like beached whales. We finally went out and bought the CD because we were tired of flipping the tape over.

Thank you RP!!!
I took a real long bus ride once...the guy behind me played reggae for 8 hours straight. Phew :( After that I gave away my vinyl of "Natty Dread" I still like some of Bob's stuff though.... And I'm pissed that I gave that album away :(
Hear the children frying?
:sunny.gif: makes me feel irie!
I always see a small rash of anti Bob / reggae after a song is played. Hello folks, RP seems to like it, as with most of us listeners, so stop crying and open your ears.
this song makes Radio Paradise heaven on Earth
Lots of Marley today. I think I\'ll go get some Red Stripe and wish for sunshine. :)

This song reminds me of a college beach trip. Don\'t I wish I was sitting in the sun and sand now, instead of behind this computer!
Timeless and eternally relevant- Keep playing Marley, Bill.
Decent song, but RP plays way too much Marley...

I am so tired of reggae, I could scream.

I\'d love to hear some Marley that I can\'t hear on commercials, never mind commercial radio. Seriously, I don\'t know a lot of his material outside this, \"No Woman No Cry\", and \"I Shot the Sheriff\". Can you would play some of the his \"obscure\" stuff like you do other artists?
What\'s with all the Marley? I mean, which other non-prolific pot-smoking artist is so well featured in radio waves broadcast around the world? I\'m sick of hearing it to be honest. I don\'t like the style, or \"da\" words expecially the bit about giving \"tanks\" away, military hardware is way too expensive to simply give away.
