I ain't complainin'
But I'd sure like to find me
A true fine love
Someone another
That's as sweet as your mother
A true fine love

'Cause the time is right
For walking in the moonlight
I have certainly found
I'm ready to settle down
So come on get your rocks off
I'm gonna knock your socks off, you'll see, oh, yeah
So come on, pretty baby
We're going raise a family

There'll no hesitatin'
'Cause I'm sure tired of waitin'
For a true fine love
Someone another
Like a sister or brother
A true fine love

'Cause the time is right
For walking in the moonlight
I have certainly found
I'm ready to settle down
So come on get your rocks off
I'm gonna knock your socks off, you'll see, oh, yeah
So come on, pretty baby
We're going raise a family

I ain't complainin'
But I'd sure like to find me
A true fine love
Some one another
That's as sweet as your mother
A true fine love

'Cause the timing is right
For walking in the moonlight
I have certainly found
I'm ready to setle down
We'll have a boy for you
We'll have a girl for me
Come on, baby, we'll raise a family

Came up on PSD... sounds very muddy. Low bitrate?

Totally agree.

IMHO, his '70s output, excellent tho' it is, overshadows his formative '60s work: Children of the Future, Sailor, and Brave New World. All that misses that he arrived in San Francisco and played for some time as the very hard core Steve Miller Blues Band with Boz Scaggs and Lonnie Turner.

Ah, now this is more like it!!  It bums me out that Bill only gets his happy on on Fridays.

A vapid comment given that it is now tuesday.
Steve Miller's lyrics are on the same level as the Spice Girls' in terms of complexity and hard-hitting topics.

But this isn't one of them. As a matter of taste, I prefer his body of work prior to The Joker, although I know it didn't do much for Steve's or Capitol's bottom line.

I have to agree!  All work post Anthology on can stay on the FM Classic Rock stations IMO.
Gimme Brave New World!

Actually, come to think of it, Steve Miller Band had quite a few good songs...

There is some Steve Miller I really like (how 'bout something from Number 5, like Good Morning). But this song is anemic. When the best you can offer is "pretty good bass line" you know you're stretching.

Totally agree. The only ok song they did was Fly Like An Eagle and that wears thin quickly. I can't image how these songs ever made it on to the radio.

Takes me back to high school!! Mom & I wore out this album on vinyl. Rock on SMB!{#Roflol}
man, we wore this 8-track out back in high school! {#Music}
I forgot there is a SMiller song I kinda like. God, hate that spacey one. UGH! But this ditty is OK. "6"
Woo Steve Miller Band!

This was one of the first CDs my dad got when I was a kid.
Once every thirty years is still too frequent.

Being a fan since their first LP, it's nice to hear the Steve Miller Band on RP. This track, however, is NOT representative and pretty well blows. Album filler.

Wow.
Fun concert.  Everyone knows every word.  Lots of singing and dancing.  {#Smile}
dang, i haven't heard this since the late seventies. nice to hear. i wouldn't want to hear it every day. but 30 years is good. {#Tongue}
I have suddenly found I'm ready to settle down
