GREAT!!!   I gave it a TEN!!

For god's sake, somebody call the cops.

Demonically fabulous.  One of a kind player.  No cover of this track is stranger or more unique.  Maybe Albert King never had it so good.
GREAT!! I had never heard this version before. Thanx RP!

I don't rightly know what should keep me from granting this a godlike 10.  Someone give me a reason to keep it a 9 or boost it to Beethoven and Coltrane status.  Good lord amighty, this guy was superfreak.

I've got it at a 9. Despite Jimi's pyrotechnics, Mitch is too good a bass player to be stuck with that plodding bass line. No chemistry between them on this song.
wheres the fire extinguisher?

i hate it when thats happens.
Brings tears to my eyes, it sounds SO UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! He was so clearly channeling something Divine, from God only knows where!  Jam on, Jimi!
Despite Hendrix's superb skills, I find this tune to be plodding and tedious.

Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums yeah?

I Agree completely!!  I had never heard this tune, prior to hearing it on RP,  a couple of months ago. Now, the more I hear it, the more I like it!!  Thank You RP!

You poor scrap iw,  everyone misunderstands your sense of humour.

You must mean Jimi.  Jimmy is that Led Zeppelin guy.

Humor and sarcasm are lost on some (including myself in the past).  I have since learned to get a kick out of the wind blowing off of this particular "idiot", whomever they might be.
Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums yeah?
I love good, emotive, innovative guitar work. I’m a fan of many artist but no one quite takes it to the level of Jimmy. Man he makes that guitar sing.

In a good way, of course!
Somebody call the cops.
Any RPer who rated this <7 really needs to get with the program.  In fact, for me, 9 > 10.   A track that is its own masterclass guitar academy.
On my own playlist today I hit 'FF" on this...
Now I'm home with the big speakers.....
"let him talk"
SUPERGREAT!!! I never heard this before. Thanx RP!!
If jazz and rock had a baby that's what it would sound like.

RP on a roll again. I usually head straight to the Mellow Mix yet here I am. Luca Strincagnoli 'Thunderstruck'. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss 'Gone, gone, gone (done)', Alannah Myles 'Black Velvet' (who I thought was the original Heart rendition), and Jimi Hendrix, 'Born under a bad sign', beautiful. Thank you.
I've been a bit ill.  I'm about slept out and then this.  WOW!  It just doesn't get any better.
Electric Jimi✌️
got a sore thumb by tapping violently on my tablet, trying to get a 11 out of it…
I like Jimi's instrumentals most of all. He's just not a great singer, so I appreciate this one a lot.
I'm a massive Hendrix fan, but this is actually a bit ho hum.
Extended live versions of Red House, Yes
Hear my Train a'coming YES

This a bit formulaic

Wow! Everybody alright after that one?
Lush.
Finally...thank God!  Another song by the genius, Jimmy, besides the ones we always hear over and over again (Watch Tower, Purple Haze, Hey Joe, etc.).  This is awesome!
outstanding .  Have a burnt cd copy of this and need to buy the record . Its one of those recordings worth having at home. Not a huge Jimi fan but can't deny his genius.   If someone can make 6 strings sing it was Jimi and this is a classic example of that.

Thanks for playing it :-)

I guess I've been sheltered, this was my first listen of this song and just a couple minutes into it, I hit the ebay and ordered one up...
Solid album. The best of the posthumous releases

That album cover would make a really cool T-shirt

Easy Pro. I think IW may be kidding.
I'm ashamed to be listening to this on a little Dell monitor speaker.  This should be on something real
None the less, glad I'm here to hear Jimi play!
That's what making love to a guitar sounds like.
Says 'performed by Band of Gypsies' so Buddy Miles. Sounds about right.
Is Mitch Mitchell or Buddy Miles at drum's ?? The sound is not like Mitch ...

As well as Duane Allman - way too young....
Jimi melted another one of my speakers🤪
As a guitar player/hobbyist, I often wonder what Jimi Hendrix - if he were still alive - would make of the modern day glut of effects pedals and digital modelling amplifiers. Would his playing have evolved to become more subdued and atmospheric, or would he have eschewed a mammoth pedal board and stuck with his Strat, Wah, Fuzz, Uni-Vibe, and Marshall amps?
A lot of Jimi's songs just grab me and hold me, take me over. More than any other artist.

Neither of them ever claimed to be.
Staggering.

Is noodling a good thing or bad? Or is epic the important qualification?

Hadn't heard this before. Thought it was Robin Trower! Partially because I knew it wasn't Mitch Michell on the drums.

This is such a wonderful interpretation of the Albert King song.. one of my favorite Jimi Hendrix blues songs. He really lifted blues to a different level.
