Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Peace to the world

I see a baby in a crib
Reaching up for Mama's arms
Love is rising in their hearts - oh yeah

There is a man standing on the street
Shouting loud above the crowd
Saying amen to everyone one around - oh yeah

I see a man who loved his land
Laying lifeless on the ground
He said the time is now
To bring peace to the world
Say yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Peace to the world

We build a wall of stone
As high as the trees are tall
Higher then the mountains
Stronger then us all - oh yeah

Some day that wall will crumble
Tumble and fall, the sun will shine
And bring peace to us all
Say yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Bring peace to us all
Bring peace to us all

We build a wall of stone
As high as the trees are tall
Higher then the mountains
Stronger then us all - oh yeah

Some day that wall will crumble
Tumble and fall, the sun will shine
And bring peace to us all
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Peace to us all
Peace to the world

hey air_ace, remember when WABX's slogan was, 'the station that loves Detroit as much as possible'?
This entire album is great and so hard to only play one song. This is one of my favorites and not until today have I realized it is about building a wall that is doomed to fall. Hmmm.
one of the great american bands
And the Deadhead dancing chicks be spinnin' an' twirlin' again...

Nice theme.

Thank you Bill, for promoting peace through music. I think it's so important to take advantage of every opportunity in our daily lives to work for peace.

A very wise man once said…
"I charge you all that each one of you concentrate all the thoughts of your heart on love and unity. When a thought of war comes, oppose it by a stronger thought of peace. A thought of hatred must be destroyed by a more powerful thought of love. Thoughts of war bring destruction to all harmony, well-being, restfulness and content. Thoughts of love are constructive of brotherhood, peace, friendship, and happiness."

Yeah baby!

Seeing them play tonight outdoors for free.

Long live RnR...even if its on life support.
Nice Set Bill !

Guitar riff is very Chris Whitley.  Could use much more CW on RP.  Lobos IS amazing live - saw them last year - impressive.

I believe you meant to say that Chris Whitley's riffs are very Los Lobos.  Credit where credit is due.  But don't worry, CW also makes appearances here regularly.

 Freakin great.

But they just don't tour enough.

Yup — also saw them once in the past decade, and they were awesome — far above my already high hopes. {#Angel}

There's a live version from the first KCRW "Rare on Air" compilation that's groovy, too.

makes my day!!

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly.
Their music has such wonderful textures to it...
Thought this was the Subdudes. Always been a Los Lobos fan. 8.
This would be a good matchup with that Teddy Thompson track.

I hope you just bought the whole album. It's an end-to-end classic.

thank you!! got me up and dancing , i needed that

I have GOT to invest in more Los Lobos music!  This one for sure.  The more I hear of their music, the more I wish I'd been paying attention twenty years ago... I could have been enjoying their success and washing my car to 'WAY better stuff than I was listening to at the time. {#Stupid}
this whole album is excellent
I agree...  Yea Yea Yea... Love Los Lobos

Just got this CD - very versatile group - lots of styles.

Been one of my favorites for years.  LL at the top of their game in the early 90s.
Heard them in Asheville awhile ago, in a small club on the downtown square/circle...maybe 100 other people...goes without saying they blew the place away.
Just got this CD - very versatile group - lots of styles.
Los Lobos: deep cool.  How about some Latin Playboys?

Brilliant. One of my favorite Lobos songs. I have never heard it played on any radio station; shows how good Radio P is!  Keep it up, guys!

Personally, I find Los Lobos to be one of the best american bands of all time, pure and simple.  If you've seen them live, you might know what I mean.  This CD, Kiko, still holds up quite well.  It's their best CD, IMHO.

Ditto. Seen them 4 times, always brilliant.
yeah....yeah....yeah..... {#Yes}

Yep.

Love the Lobos - incredible range of styles that they play well. Kiko still my favorite Lobos album.
this was awesome live!  they always sound great, wouldn't mind hearing more of them on RP!
{#Jump}
Sounds a little like Stephen Stills in this one...
The sun will shine
Bring peace to us all...

These guys are playing at California World Fest in Grass Valley in July. See 'em!! They are just sooooo much better live than in the studio. One of my favorite live shows.

I dunno... but on the other hand, you might ask why someone like me would give Pearl Jam and Bowie so many 1's too... {#Angel}

I saw these guys as a back-up band when they were just starting out back in the 80s. They were good then, and you could hear the potential,  but man, they have developed so well over the years and become such a tight band. I always enjoy their work.
These guys are so good... they drip the funk!

I am hearing Moprhine

There's a big one on the cover, that Kiko's not using.
I like em but this goes nowhere for me
Oh yeah, say yeah
...i'm hearing a hint of stephen stills in this...
muy bueno roberto
This is their best release IMHO. Solid stuff.
Say ya, ya, ya for peace to us all Oh Ya!!
For some reason, reminds me of Nirvana.

Kiko is pretty awesome; each cut is totally different and unique.
I like much of what Los Lobos does, but this doesn't do much for me.
Any chance of hearing 'Elmo and the Lavender Moon'? Yes, Elmo, not Kiko if possible.
How can a song with this title be bad at a time like this?...sure makes it hard to not like.
Los Lobos and their many, many songs are cool . I was responsible for them once and they are all very chill.
I've always thought the Neville Bros, The Band, and these guys are the best groups ever. They can play any kind of music and play it well. Hildago's tenor is butter.

Just amazing what these south central L.A. homies brought to us from de barrio. I love this band ...wish I could bring Lowell George back from over the rainbow bridge to jam on a few tunes with these guys, he would'a dug it.
This is a great album.
Yeah, yeah, yeah
more Kiko! more Lobos! more Latin Playboys!
One of the most criminally underrated bands on the planet. Los Lobos is one of those bands you can like and justifiably enjoy an air of quiet superiority to the unenlightened masses.
Seeing them this friday night at the Fox theatre in Redwood City! Can\'t wait. Viva Los Lobos! (pimp)
Los Lobos is great. Play more, please.
