There'll come a time when all of us must leave here
Then nothing sister Mary can do
Will keep me here with you
As nothing in this life that I've been trying
Could equal or surpass the art of dying
Do you believe me?

There'll come a time when all your hopes are fading
When things that seemed so very plain
Become an awful pain
Searching for the truth among the lying
And answered when you've learned the art of dying

But you're still with me
But if you want it
Then you must find it
But when you have it
There'll be no need for it

There'll come a time when most of us return here
Brought back by our desire to be
A perfect entity
Living through a million years of crying
Until you've realized the art of dying
Can you believe me?

They kept this off of the Beatles albums for good reason.
What?  No lyrics about unrequited love, which my Dharma teacher called Attachment Songs?  Just a meditation on the meaning of life and death.  Along with a perfect bass line, as expected.

10.

So very true!  And for me (a, brace for it, non-Beatles fan) I have to say George is by far my favorite.  Maybe that's why I don't care much for the Beatles....too much Paul & John running the show.  This is an 8 and the album is a 9.  PEACE and Long Live RP!!

I love The Beatles, and Paul and John, but George was always my favorite, and this is still an excellent album!

I agree, Bill.  This song contains just the right touch from Phil Spector.

Me, too.  The world is somewhat poorer without him.

Got damn I love that syncopation in the bass!

Yeah, Gary Thain style really!

My rating only  5 - Decent

Do you think we should all make posts such as yours? No substance.
Didn't your mommy say to you "If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing"?
My rating only  5 - Decent
Ok Radio P- just who had the guts to play this following Butthole Surfers? Come on, get down and give me 50 push-ups RIGHT NOW.
Got damn I love that syncopation in the bass!

Love the meaning in this song. We all need to realize each day is either a gift or a curse and we decide which it is. But we need to prepare and be ready for the day it ends so we can do it with grace.

Two or three years more and i'll take the place of John and Paul
sounds new
Too much Phil Spector.

Thought for a second there that George might have borrowed another riff, but maybe it was Paul Simon this time. Kodachrome wasn't until '73.

Love this song. The negative comments are entertaining enough though. Keep them coming -  if only to offend the over-sensitive clowns who think everyone else should agree with them.

Thank for that!  {#Cheesygrin}
Amazing song. Perfect Harrison.

There is nothing disrespectful in rating this song with "1" . I also don't think it is that bad but i personally wouldn't give it more than 3. Are then going to insult me as well because you disagree ?!
RP is coming in need of a moderator seeing how more and more often people are directly unfairly attacked for their comments.

I think everyone should chill and enjoy the songs they like...in getting such a broad, eclectic selection one is not going to get an 8 every time...although I gotta say there are very few 'lemons' for me...so sit back and enjoy or find another medium I would sugest{#Bananajam}

1970?   This is prophetic.

It is my considered opinion that the comments section is overrun with neophytes.

Not one of George's best, perhaps. But one can see (hear) why Paul and John showed no interest in it.

Seriously George...you actually put this on an album? You must think we're really fucking gullible or something.

In the end prophetic.
True not his best work, but by far, in my opinion, the most spiritual of the Beatles. Sad he's no longer with us....

Squeeze channeled through George?
Um, this predates Squeeze by a couple of decades. I do hear some similarities, though.
Squeeze channeled through George?
thanks - please play more out of the way and less commercial music. And, diversity within artist\'s work too! peace. :)
This song is three Beatles away from actually being decent.
Still hard to believe he\'s gone...physically only...the spirit remains
tnx for playing songs from this album.
Sadly appropriate.
