Every time I'm walkin' down the streets
Some pretty mama Stop Breakin' Down with me
Stop Breakin' Down, yes Stop Breakin' Down
The stuff I got'll bust your brains out, baby
Ooh, it'll make you lose your mind

I can't walk the streets now, can't consulate my mind
Some no good woman she starts breakin' down
Stop Breakin' Down, please Stop Breakin' Down
The stuff I got'll bust your brains out, baby
Ooh, it'll make you lose your mind

Now, you Saturday night womens, you love to ape and clown
You won't do nothin' but tear a good man reputation down
Stop Breakin' Down, please Stop Breakin' Down
The stuff I got'll bust your brains out, baby
Ooh, it'll make you lose your mind

Now, I give my baby, now the 99 degree
She jumped up and throwed a pistol down on me
Stop Breakin' Down, please Stop Breakin' Down
Stuff I got'll bust your brains out, baby
Ooh, it'll make you lose your mind

I can't start walkin' down the streets
But my pretty mama don't start breakin' down with me
Stop Breakin' Down, yeah Stop Breakin' Down
The stuff I got'll bust your brains out, baby
Ooh, it'll make you lose your mind

Yee-friggin' Haw baby!!! Can't stop dancin'!!
Oh Yes Indeeeed Ha Ha Haaaaah mutha this shit is gooood!!!!!
I say 10   Pure Joy   (sad end to a strong life)
Production seems far too slick for the music. Nice guitar work though.
Best cover of this old Stones' cut (who did they steal it from, Robert Johnson?).  Nice guitar & bottleneck work.
An artist that left us way too soon!
Found myself unconciously turning this one up.

Way back when, there was this television show called "Booker" with Richard Grieco (it was a spinoff of "21 Jump Street.")  Healey's music was used in an episode about skiing.  Imagine a couple of hot-dog skiiers slaloming down a mountain at breakneck speed to the sound of "Confidence Man"  - what a great memory.  It was the first time I'd ever heard the Jeff Healey Band, and I was hooked right away.  That song even made me forget to ogle Grieco! {#Lol}

Cy, the inimitable one.

Can't think Jeff Healey without thinking of RoadHouse.

I love this. But have to agree that a fade-out is a weird way to end a song like this.

Nevertheless, love it.

{#Headache} Giving me a headache this morning.

Sounds just like Creams Crossroads with different lyrics....

I think Robert Johnson wrote both of them.

I found a live CD of Healey's band, augmented with another guitar player.  Jeff absolutely smokes!  Amazing playing.
Great Healey. Not a super guitarist (imho) but a man with a truly good touch for the best rock-blues.
Smokin'.

And I thought you'd be taller.

Screen writer saw Healey once and thought "that is perfect for the bar scene!" {blind Blues singer playing guitar on his lap}
The Director saw the script and thought "I know the perfect band for that spot!"
Only afterward did the director find out it was Healey the screenwriter was inspired by.

nice words about jeff, bill!
thanks
MAX VOL!!!!!

Song originally by Robert Johnson and recorded by EC on his "Me and Mr Johnson". I prefer this version.

How about pretty great, for anybody!  He put a lot of sighted guys to shame in his day.
  Just funnin', I think it was a line in 'Roadhouse'. Jeff Healey, Patrick Swayze. Jeff then makes a crack about Pat being short, it's a funny little bit.

Jeff Healey not only had the technique, he captured the soul of the blues too. A rare talent, taken far too soon.

living in southern ontario my friends and I went to see jeff a few times because we loved him ,,,,,,,,,,,, one time at a car show in toronto he was on before blue rodeo and he tried to blow them out of the water with his show ,,,,, rubbing the speakers while he played,,,,,,,,,, behind the head stuff,,,,,,,,he ended if memory serves jumping up and down on his guitar,,, it seemed like most were there to see the blue so they were not impressed but i was ,,,,,,,

Absolutely f*ckin' brilliant back-to-basics blues rock. Sure, it sounds like Clapton and Cream, but wtf. 8 from the toe-tappin' Nottingham jury.

Sorry, Fred, but this one's a 10 on the back-to-how-it-was-done scale. RIP Jeff Healey.

Very, very nice!!  Hey, now i remember, i own this one cd!!

I raise it to a 9 Fred - haven't heard such dirty guitar on RP for a while....
How on earth can someone end such a tune with a fadeout ??  {#Frustrated}

If you know the blues, everything is borrowed or derived from something else. I have no problem with that.
Such a pleasant relief after R.L. Burnside....
My introduction to Jeff Healey was his small role in Roadhouse (my favorite "bad" movie).  Loved his music ever since.  RIP Jeff.

Damn but that boy played some blues gitfiddle.

Played a decent Dixieland trumpet, too.

100% agree with that. this seems too clean. stones version has just enough slop in it.

I dunno ... I feel that both versions have their own particular bite.  Interesting the manner in which Jeff constructed this number.  Damn but that boy played some blues gitfiddle.

Miss you Jeff.  Fantastic, fearless live performances. Great musician and a great guy too!
Never got over his technique (fingering, not style). Simply astonishing.

Nice, but the Stones version is far better, IMHO. {#Drummer}

Two Jeff Healey songs today. Not a complaint, just an observation. It's pretty odd for RP.

It's so rewarding to be the first in line (or the 23 in line) to rate songs and have your opinion count in the average. Just bumped this up a 10th! Aw, voting works . . . sometimes.{#Sunny}
