Hey you know sometimes rock isn't just a Les Paul or Strat, a P-Bass, and some Ludwigs playing 3 chords in 4/4 time.
If I wanted to wind up my father this was the song that would do it faster than anything else. He thought that I only listened to it upset him, but I loved it 43 years ago and I love it now. Looks like lots of Radio Paradise listeners feel the same as my dad and I’d give them the same advice I gave him. If you don’t like it go into the other room till it's over.

It's another early 70's progressive rock band like Gentle Giant, Genesis, ELP, Tull, etc.. To your point there doesn't seem to be much in between.
I love this period of KC, culminating in the absolute masterpiece of RED.
