In the gatefold  and regular sleeve the windows of the bus can show a different picture depending on how you insert the inner sleeve.  That is quite cute.  but sometimes the inner sleeve catches on the split window mid support. I wonder if the people who post in here that they are tired of the whole reggae thing have listened to much reggae? How many different artists and albums? Can you describe the difference between the artists or say Bob Marley’s albums? Maybe you hear the same few songs in rotation or maybe you just don’t like the genre, but to say you are tired of it makes it sound like a fad. Would you say that about other genres?

It seems obvious that to make that kind of music he must have been tuned into something greater.... as all great masters are.   Yes to Jamaicans he was/is a God.   But then God IS in all of us.  We have only to tune into that vib to feel it.

Reggae is indeed a very big "vibe." Many people, perhaps millions of people, believe Marley was sent to Earth from almighty God with a message for us all. Considering his music, there's a clear beauty and symmetry in that principle. Hence a 10, for "Godlike" seems appropriate. I saw him in concert in Boston right before he died, he was wonderful.
Also found two joints on the floor, smoked one on the way back home.

I had the pleasure of seeing Bob and the Wailers w/the I-Threes in Boston at the Bradford Ballroom about 18 months before he died.  Awesome does not begin to describe him live...and every rasta within driving distance was there.

I'm sure you are very nice and gentle in person but I have to say that sadly, sadly, some of the reggae hearing weed smokers I encountered so far were among the most closed minded people I've yet had the pleasure to meet. Not to mention the frustration of bumping the "next" button on your mp3 player when you're three hours in and losing your place {#Wall}

I came up with this last year when my company was experiencing bandwidth issues with our provider. I couldn't reliably stream RP, so I would record six hours worth every day and put it on my laptop to listen to the next day.

The -l switch tells it the number of seconds you want it to run, so you could use the command
streamripper https://206.71.145.10:8006 -a -A -d /path/to/some/directory -l 3600 -r

to record a one-hour block, for example, or whatever suits your needs. You could also use a while loop to get it to record a series of smaller files:
i="0"

while < $i -lt 4 > 

do

https://206.71.145.10:8006 -a -A -d /path/to/some/directory -l 3600 -r

i=$< $i+1 >

done
(Substitute square brackets for the < and > in the above code). The above would create 4 one-hour mp3 files.

It wasn't until I went to college and dared to listen to the music as a whole and learned to respect the philosophy behind it that I started to like it. Goes to show that you can't like everything all the time. Maybe someday you will find something in it to enjoy. So no worries, my friend.

I'm Jamerican and grew up absolutely hating Reggae music! The building I grew up in was full of Rastafarians (we were the only "normal" family) and all-day/all-night all I could hear was that steady constant baseline -- no words -- just base. It even seeped into my very dreams. It drove me crazy! It wasn't until I went to college and dared to listen to the music as a whole and learned to respect the philosophy behind it that I started to like it. Historically, I was a Bob/Peter reggae fan, and a very passing fan at that, rarely listening to them. I was of the opinion that it all really sounds pretty similar and why stray from the top guys. I spent 24 hours at a Rasta's bar in Benin where he personally DJed reggae music for all 24 hours and while never touching Bob or Peter once, I have to admit he played some amazing and varied stuff. How I feel about country music. and Southern "rock." Love regae, though. And I find many, many exceptions to the rule in the country-ish vein thanks to RP. Open your mind and you might find something new to like!

I'm sure I'll get the typical "all reggae sounds the same" argument to this post, but I am impressed with, considering how stylistically consistent Marley's material is, how many catchy melodies he managed to create. I can usually call a Bob song within a few bars, regardless of the ever-present one-drop rhythm.
