Four seasons in one day
Lying in the depths of your imagination
Worlds above and worlds below
The sun shines on the black clouds hanging over the domain

Even when you're feeling warm
The temperature could drop away
Like four seasons in one day

Smiling as the shit comes down
You can tell a man from what he has to say
Everything gets turned around
And I will risk my neck again, again

You can take me where you will
Up the creek and through the mill
Like all the things you can't explain
Four seasons in one day

Blood dries up
Like rain, like rain
Fills my cup
Like four seasons in one day

It doesn't pay to make predictions
Sleeping on an unmade bed
Finding out wherever there is comfort there is pain
Only one step away
Like four seasons in one day

Blood dries up
Like rain, like rain
Fills my cup
Like four seasons in one day

Such great songwriting! It captures the essence of so many relationships.
Going right back to being "Split Enz"  total genius stuff.
I absolutely love the track "I got you" on the Dizrythmia album.. Check it out.

Just saw them in concert in Madrid. What a night, what a vibe and what a great location is the botanic garden of the UC. Their interpretation of Bowies' Heroes was superb. Great to hear back all their songs and see so much enthusiasm of the band members. Oh those voices:)

Billy Connolly once said "There is no such thing as 'bad language', only bad use of good language."

I think these guys nailed it here, maybe you just don't get it...

to me this was a song about manic depression. how your mood can change by the hour. it's seemed more profound and insightful than if it was simply on the nose about weather. it's good how songs reach out to us in different ways
oh, oh, you get a 1
Not bad for an Aussie band .

Crowded House didn't realize it would offend you. I'm certain they'll change the lyrics to accommodate your delicate sensibilities.

Never enough of Crowded House on RP. I can do with hearing less Pink Floyd, Roberte Plante, Cowboy Monkeys, or Loreena <yawn> McKennitt <more yawn> . But CH are always welcome.

Like all the things you can't explain, [like] finding out where there is comfort there is pain. Like CH.

That period in the mid 90s when Crowded House reminded you of how great songwriting and performance was why you loved music so much. Saw them repeatedly back then, and each time was such a pleasure.

I had very much the same thought. For a second, I thought "those indie bands today, there is really a sound they all share"...
This came out in my post high school days, when my musical tastes leaned towards classic rock and old-school rap/hip-hop/r&b.  I probably would not have liked it then; boy do I like it now!  7 → 8 → 9 all in one listening!
One of my favorites by a great band, thanks for playing Bill. And a 7.6 from almost 2000 ratings, your audience shares your good taste!

An unfortunately underrated band in their day. Listening with a new appreciation now.
Portsmouth Guildhall early 90s - just superb in a right-size venue. Singing - oh yeah.

If Crowded House were a bodily function, they would be the gag reflex, activated.
If Crowded House were a vehicle, they would be a 30 year old pee-yellow Volvo wagon......diesel.
If Crowded House were a plant, it would be a weed.
colorful.
Childishly we started singing "four wee wees in one day" to this song at work , and now i can't help help continuing the tradition every time it comes on.
love this band and their music but would never admit it in public!  What is that all about?!

I simply love this song - the words, the music, the chords when I play it on my guitar. So good...

Such a beautiful song, so neatly crafted. When they or Neil do it live, everyone sings along.
I always got the sense Crowded House were a bit bigger up here in Canada than down in the USA but, my goodness, they turned out some absolutely perfect, melodic pop songs, didn't they?
Fabulous album from start to finish, worth its weight in gold in my home.

I was a big fan back in the MTV days. They were a band that had musical credibility and great videos, too.

Really nice to hear them as I drudge away at my computer finishing off my month-end reports.

These guys just seem like some MTV band that never quite made the leap to college cred.  Not very edgy or melodic.  Sorry but I am not hearing it.
I remember exactly how tripped out I was to find this, the same band that had done the pop-brilliant Don't Dream It's Over, had gone to an entirely new & exciting level, musically, poetically, & metaphysically. This record was a revelation!  I saw them in Boulder that tour!
