Yes. Because I get to the next song and think "I'll bet that was a cool segue."

Not really sure what bitrates all those would be using  or if the laptop is using the same one.

In general you can try to improve the wifi connection or lower the bitrate to see if anything helps.

You can use something like wifi analyzer  on a phone to  check the wifi signal strength  at the speakers location.
Can help find deads spots or if  it's  on a crowded channel.

And if  the device lets you enter  custom stream urls.
Can try some different ones from here to see if any behave better.
https://radioparadise.com/listen/stream-links

And rebooting router/device can often help with connection issues as well.
So always worth a try.

I've been getting 2 - 3 second gaps on our Como Duetto (Internet-native) radio.  It streams Soma Groove Salad rock solid (no gaps) and several other stations without hanging up, but I get them on both the main stream and the "mellow" version of RP.  I've been listening for the past few hours on our laptop / Vanatoo powered speaker rig, and not a single gap.  Any ideas?

This is most likely networking.   Can try rebooting the  modem/router if it's been a while.

You can also take a look under the hood to see what's going on with the  connection.

Right click anywhere on the page.
Inspect  ->  select the network tab,    then   select  media  to limit it to the  audio files.

On my Windows 10 system, both the old and new players will sometimes just stop playing, with no indication of error or problem (and the network is fine).  I've seen this for a few months, indeed just kind of got away from Radio Paradise (almost subconsciously) because it gets really annoying.  I've checked what I think are all the obvious possible culprits (anti-virus, local net events that might have interrupted, local computer status in detail) and none seem to be the problem cause.

I *can* often restart just by hitting "Play" again (older interface), and on the newer page when it happens the "start listening" button is enabled, so it seems that the website has somehow sensed the issue (I can't immediately test this again while composing this message).

Is there any  log/error report on the website I could get access to to at least see what your website *thinks* has gone wrong?

when i come to the home page & click on 'start listening' i'm somewhere in the future of the playlist. i noticed this yesterday when i paused & started playback again it repeated what i already heard. today i started with the idan raichel project which i'm going to guess is in the future of the playlist, because it's not in the past.

so my problem is if i wanted to sync to the playlist it would go back & have songs i've already heard. (could be a good thing if there was a playlist i wanted to hear twice)

You may be using an outdated link. Here's the correct one:

That's true in general (that iOS borks app updates for audio apps running in background). In this case the problem comes directly from me: more precisely  from the process of deleting wasted space (from a previous bug, as in the release notes) during startup... this causes the app to be killed by the system because sometimes (on slower devices, or devices that listened to _many_ songs) it needs more than 5 seconds of CPU to do that (iOS is somewhat strict on it, because battery life). Deleting and reinstalling  the app deletes wasted space by itself, so there is no need to delete it at startup and all goes nicely.

Sorry for it...  I should have considered it.

iOS seems to choke on app updates fairly often. Deleting & reinstalling is often all you need to do.
