More like 1963-1965. He had a TV show for a while called That Was the Week That Was, where he played his songs commenting on the events of the week. I think Mark Russell cites him as an influence. I vaguely recall a scandal of sorts over Lehrer's The Vatican Rag. I used to have a few of his vinyls but sadly, they didn't make the cut when I moved into a smaller place. There's another funny song called New Math and another called Pollution. God I haven't thought about those songs in years!

My oldest brother had this and used to play it in the early 60s when he was in high school. Brings back great memories. Nothing like a little insolent and irreverent humor for the holidays!
