Sounds a little like Shawn Colvin's "Diamond in the Rough" but I like it...
this sounds like PSD
VERY interesting instrumentation in this set.

Agreed.
I think its reasonably safe to say an English artist called Pratt would change their name, if they wanted to make it big that is. two countries separated only by a common language....
"Mmmmmmmmmm...........Victorious Brat Eating!..................Aurghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" =P~
This has a John Hiatt flavor, almost too close.
Vyktoria. Horrible spelling of the name. I can't give you a reason why I think that but is just looks ugly.

It sounds very nice coming out of the Peter Gabriel.
She sounds a lot like Shawn Colvin... I like! Hope more of her material that was uploaded makes it to the playlist.
EDIT: I just looked her up here on RP, and her other 2 songs were played within the last few days, but I missed them... sigh.
Vyktoria's lyrical styles are somewhere between symbol and the literal. 'The Voice & the Drum' reminds me in several ways of Peter Gabriel's 'Solsbury Hill'. Similar to Gabriel I suspect a lot of Vyktoria's lyrics reflect the fact that she thinks more in 'pictures than in words'.
Being a huge fan of Vyktoria's, I uploaded 12 songs of hers; 3 each from her four independent releases to date. Unfortunately, uploaded songs get listed and evaluated in opposite order; last uploaded = first evaluated. These 'live' songs, as good as they are, don't reflect the half of Vyktoria's 'studio' sounds. The 9 studio songs I uploaded are currently being reviewed; only 2 of the 3 added 'live' songs have been played, so far.
Categorically, Vyktoria Pratt Keating comes from the 'Progressive Art/Folk-Rock' tradition; ie, Jethro Tull (who adore her), Kate Bush, Renaissance, etc. The live material was culled from Jethro Tull's 1999 30th Anniversary Tour, and available on her release, _Something About Driving_ .
All Vyktoria's material is almost exclusively only available from her, directly; via mail-order. For many more wonderful details please visit: https://vyktoria.com
And thank you for your comments,

Nice voice, great guitar work, but not much of a song writer (well, at least based upon this song).
