You know we can get away
Because I'm calling your name
Every day I feel this pain
But you just turn and walk away

I just can't keep hanging on
To you and me
I just don't know what is wrong
With you and me

Touch me and then turn away
Put your hands into the flame
Tell me if you feel this pain
'Cause I don't want to be a ball and chain

I just can't keep hanging on
To you and me
I just don't what is wrong
With you and me
With you and me

I just can't keep hanging on
To you and me
I just don't know what is wrong
I just can't keep hanging on
To you and me
I just don't know what is wrong

Well then, first time I've actually  noticed this song, due to the nice bass output in my ear buds.  Rare that I notice those low tones with these little speakers...wonder what it'll sound like on my BIG system?  Oddly, like a lot of songs do, the music over-rides the lyrics, which when reading really don't seem to match the tone of the music; seems more like a spacey jam to me.  7 for now - PEACE and Long Live RP!!

Sounds lovely on my big tube amp.

Nice music... but sounds distorted. Bad rip or bad mix?

What's wrong here, Doggy?
Looking over the many comments, I find it funny, just how many felt emasculated by the whole thing...   No,   -  I mean really - FUNNY!!   ha ha h a!!{#Roflol}   still laughing.....

Ah no. I think not.
First contact with this artist. Gave a 7.
Sounds and looks "gay" but quite interesting discover.
Add a few horns and this could be Earth Wind and Fire.
Thanks for playing this! I've seen them in concert twice, and they're eery and amazing. They have a new album with a lot of RP worthy material!!!
Like it.  Sort of Talk Talk meets the Bee Gees.
I wrote a short screenplay for this song:

This is  different! If it I had to compare, obscure 10cc comes to mind...

Oh Boo Hoo, she left you.  Get over it.

And some Philip Bailey thrown in for good measure. FWIW, I rather like this.
The past hour has been a great set of music, very new and fresh. Thanks!
Love this!
Never heard this before.  Kind of hope I never hear it again.
Love this song, his voice, it's wonderful.
What a whiney "I don't know why so let me strangle myself" kind of song. The bottle ain't deep enough.

Wheres the minus 100 rating drop down?
Mellow trance. Thumbs up from this guy.
Wow. not drunk or high enough to appreciate.
But that's why I love RP! the ecclectic part :)
Will it never end?  Changed the station.
How did I think this was a 3?

1 and going down.... blaaaaaaach

Bought this album while listening on RP. Endless loop in my cabrio. I love it <3
Like!!
I love this song! I gave it a 10!
My god,

This song is dreadful!

Shreiking...yelping...meandering....over-produced.

When will it end?
Totally love the Ellie Goulding version a lot more, and without Tinie Tempah.
It's like musical drugs.
OK, I guess - but can't shake the feeling that it just significantly lowered my testosterone levels.
Nice!
Nice. Very nice. Love that I've never heard of them before, way down here in New Zealand anyway.

AB FAB!  What a brilliant song.  Just put into my Spotify Playlist to hear complete album.

Noise like this makes my Klipsch's smile.
First 60 seconds grabs me.

They're amazing in concert! Love this!!!!
Instrumental opening echoes a Moby cut. Earth Wind and Fire updated.
One of my favorite album purchases this year. Thanks for turning me on to him, RP!!

HAH!!!  Thank you for the chuckle :)
RP is amazing because I would have never heard this otherwise. Yet, before I gave it a 9, I wanted to wait to see if it had "legs" — if I would still feel it's that strong in a month or two.  So I waited.  And now I can say, this is a 9.  This is both unique and tremendously beautiful.
i just like to hear something new to my ears, sometimes...i like what he's doing with the vocals.

Or the BeeGees?   eww.
Has a bit of Devin Townsend sound to it..Nice
I really like this song! My coworkers just came in and thought the same thing. Thanks RP!

8. This guy does have an odd voice. When he goes high he sounds like a castrato, slightly unnerving. I suspect some autotune tinkering..

I saw Active Child in concert and I can confidently say that there is no auto-tune going on on this song. Crazy. A truly great concert experience, I will see him again if I can.
I immediately thought this was Bon Iver...then I realized I could make out the lyrics....
Yep, I'm clicking through from RP to buy this on iTunes right now.

Now that's funny. Or a little scary. Or maybe that's what makes it funny.

Beautiful.
I totally agree! Bill's playlist scheming wizardry at its best!

Wow, this is cool!  Great followup to "Tomorrow Never Knows".  Sort of like psychedelic soul.... with some Japanese influence... think I'll move it up to an 8.

I love this song! Why haven't I heard it before (I am a constant listener to RP)?

'First I've heard this.........I'm off to Amazon - to buy the disc

Not my thing..don't like

Love it- very Metheny, methinks.

Love LOVE LOVE this track. Could play it on repeat many times over (and have done so).

The whole album's brilliant for anyone wondering; well worth a listen if this song intrigues you (as it did me) as it's a real sonic treat for the brain. I first heard Hanging On when it was included on one of Adult Swim's compilations and my ears immediately fell in love with it. My face lit up when I heard it begin to play on RP. :-D

Just picked up this album based on this song alone. Really great. Can't say I have anything in my collection like it.

it's hard to believe that this has nothing to do with Bon Iver.
This is a really refreshing sound. Echoes of the past, but something very alive and new, too.

Ha ha! I agree with both statements.  :)  (And I'm jealous that you can see Zabar's from your window.)

the other song was good too

Me too, followed the "Artist Website" link above & found a four track soundcloud sampler on their/his website.

Hints of a Philip Bailey vocal thing, that's a plus in my book.
OK...  I want to hear some more.
I am so happy to be hearing Active Child here. This song is just gorgeous. I love the layers.
This song is my frenemy, I love/hate it!
HAve to rate this one badly. Terrible. Mish mash of mushiness.
boy band gif

allmusic.com says. . .

Active Child is the electronic-meets-choral project of musician Pat Grossi. Growing up in New Jersey, Grossi sang with the Philadelphia Boys Choir and was influenced by the rhythms of ‘80s alternative dance bands like New Order. Combining these elements with his otherworldly falsetto, live harp, and evocative lyrics, Active Childwas born. The project debuted in 2010 with an EP, Curtis Lane, for Merok Records. These soaring soundscapes caught the ears of bliss popsters School of Seven Bells, who later toured alongside Active Child; they remixed each other’s songs for a split 7”. Active Child's first full-length recording, You Are All I See, followed in summer 2011 on the Vagrant label, taking listeners on an intimate journey of the highs and lows of relationships and identity.

I say. . . a great addition to RP. Hat tip to whoever loaded this one up.

Agreed. An interesting and complex mèlange of sounds - very RP :). I'd have really tripped to this in the days I smoked blow {#Cowboy} but it's pretty good straight with a good beer by the computer. 8 from the intrigued and chilled-out Nottingham jury.

More harp on RP!

Like all of us at one time or another, the inevitable repetition of RP's playlists give me a vague almost indefinable itch...then something like this comes on. Wow. I want to meet whoever charted the vocals on this gem.
Never heard this before. Never heard of them. I like it rather a lot. And I'm motivated to go find out more....

Okay, I'm back. Not really my thing in general. But this song, Hanging On, still merits the 8 I gave it, IMO.
