I'm sailin', sailin'
[To a] place I've never seen
That's way down south
Sweet ol' New Orleans
Cause my hometown friend treats me awful mean

If I could holler, yeah, holler
If I could scream and cry
It hurts me so
When I look up in the sky
Cause my friends turn their heads
As they pass me by

Now it's rainin', it's rainin'
The wind's blowin' cold
Lord I thought I heard
My train whistle blow
Now I'm gonna sail so far
'Til I won't be back no more

Pardon me, Pardon me
It's so hard to stand
I ain't got no money
Uncle Sam has called my name
Now there's not a soul
To lend me a helpin' hand

Yeah, it does! Lucinda's a litle grittier; Star is sort of ethereal.   Man, I'm totally loving RP these days!

miss you so much, Cynaera...

We disagree.  I like the "unusual" production on this song.

Bumped it to an 8.  Good female vocal and smooth guitar.
Anybody else hear the ghost of Syd's (Terrapin) here?  The strumming, the rhythm...
'Cause we're the fishes...and all we do...the move-about is all we do...well oh baby my hair's on end about you...

Minus thirty years of grit, 1,000 miles of gravel, 300 years of genetic memory and 25 lbs of soul. Souls is tricky to weigh, mind you - but you always know when you get shorted!
Victor Horta's work I believe  - very early Art Nouveau and splendid!  As was the Mazzy Star song.

I never would have guessed Mazzy Star. Should have known by the voice of course, but the style is so different from what I'm used to from Hope.

I like it.
More Hope Sandoval! {#Mrgreen}

wonderful background....

A feeling of grittiness and honesty. Never heard this before and I really like it.
