Here comes the sun
Doo-d'n doo-doo
Here comes the sun
And I say
It's all right

Little darlin'
It's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darlin'
It feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun (doo-d'n doo-doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darlin'
The smiles returning to their faces
Little darlin'
It seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun (doo-d'n doo-doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darlin'
I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darlin'
It seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun (doo-d'n doo-doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Here comes the sun (doo-d'n doo-doo)
Here comes the sun
It's all right
It's all right

I was an announcer at the college radio station.  I asked another DJ to play this song on-air for me just before I walked in to my 7:40am Biology final to  give me good luck. I sat in my car and waited...and waited...and waited...he played it at 7:39.   I was late for the final but listened to the whole thing. I passed.

It's as delightful a pop song as any of us ever needed.

Perfection, I'd say.
We had a snow and ice storm here today, and have had a cold, dreary day. When this song started, the sun came out and shone for a brief moment.  Perfect! The song ended and clouds are now returning the promise of a grey day.

This is their best album. After the White album I did not listen to or purchase Let It Be or any Beatle related media. But the first note on this record confirmed the magic was still there. And I'm still waiting for the followup!         {#Hearteyes}{#Guitarist}
This should be on automatic rotation for December 21, every year...at least for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere{#Sunny}

What a great song to start my RP session.

Nope. Heard it once upon a time on RP. Maybe next time.

Now the question is: Will Bill play the whole second side? The only way, really, to listen to it.
Amen!!! It's been a long and cold winter here in central PA! It's not sunny today, but the past few have been, and tomorrow will be. Feels soooo good!!! Better than "alright!"

watched "living in the material world" a few months ago....i miss beatle george.   i miss the beatles.  wished they'd done about 3, 4, 5 more albums before they called it a day.
the older i get the more i like these guys....and i've been saying that for 40+ years now.....
The rating "Godlike" was MADE for this song.

If only it sounded as good here as it does from a good LP... This is analogue at its best.
What a great chaser for Bourbon and Rosewater!!!

The day is off to a very good start.

marvelous...  love this song...  love this whole album...

10 just doesn't do this justice!!  Makes a cold rainy day in the UK one whole lot better
Miss you George.
Amazing how, every time I hear this song, my brain recalls the sights, smells, colors of the basement in the house I grew up in.
You would think that after 40 + years the memories would fade!!

This album will still get frequently listened to long after most of us are gone.....{#Cheers}

No, no! It deserves ALL those ratings.  I sing it in shower, the dog howls along, and she rates it a 10 too.  {#Dancingbanana_2}
George's music almost always improves my mood
Have you heard the 'lost guitar solo' for Here Comes the Sun?  Saw this video recently of Dhani Harrison hearing it for the first time. Amazing stuff.

This song is just wonderful and from what I consider to be the gold standard rock medley (for those who don't agree, that's okay, the world is full of beautiful music and there's enough to go around).  In fact, the whole album is my all time #1 favorite, so much so in fact, that every time I hear something from it, I am filled with amazement at just how good it was and remains.  Sadly, each of those "eargasms" tears a tiny hole in my heart, because I know that no matter how much I wish for more from the Beatles, it's all done, that's all we get — sniff.  {#Sunny}
I can't believe I didn't rate this song earlier! So, okay - 10.  Easily.  I can hear this song and automatically grin, no matter what's going on around me.  George Harrison has always been, and will always be, my favorite Beatle.
impresionante!!!  Yo estuve en ABBEY ROAD!!!! MUy emocionante

My standard for a perfect 10 is "In My Life" so this gets a 9.  Still, not too shabby.
I'm pretty sure Paul was dead when this was released.  {#Stop}

I looove this song so much although it's a bit bittersweet... played it at my mom's burial.  Kind of good timing for hearing this since yesterday was the 16th anniversary of her passing.  It always makes me tear up a little.  But what a beautiful melody.

There needs to be a "20" for this album. It is way past godlike.

They did a great job of that. Shows understanding and respect - the earth shaking beneath the English garden is a beautiful bit of whim. (...I would have used a few less penguins).

This version sounds strange to me. The vocal sounds mixed well below the instrumental parts. Has this been remastered by  someone with delusions of superior soundscape? And I must agree that this is one of the more perfect songs of the past decades. There was a time when this was the new music of the day, played on lots of radio stations. Back when the world was fresh.

Amidst an album of wide ranging exploration, the simple joy of this song is always refreshing :-)
This song always makes me so happy. I love to listen to it on headphones.
Nina Simone does an awesome cover of this song.
A fitting song for Midwinter.  Thanks Bill & Rebecca!
This is simply a beautiful icon. Thanks for making the world better through your music, George. And hey, those other 3 guys in your band were OK, too. {#Yes}
{#Cool}
Not only is this one of the best from the best, it gives me a positive outlook on life!

{#Sunny}

Brilliant song every time but what the hell has to follow a track like this?

Bill, if it's been raining up there in Paradise like it has here in Santa Clara county, playing this song is wishful thinking indeed. But we need the rain. Great song, great album, greatest band. These guys were the textbook example of the sum being greater than the total of its parts. Rock on, y'all! {#Clap}
Okay, I have some 9,000 songs on my iPod.  That's more than some and a lot less than many.  But I say this only to say that I'm not a novice to the music game.  And I say the following without hyperbole.  This song may be the best song written in the last half of the 20th Century.  Few songs qualify as perfect.  This one does.  Not only can it not be ruined by a cover, it can't be improved either.  I adore The Beatles, but really their enduring magic was in their song-writing, not their performances.  But this is one of those recordings that can't be improved. Period.

George was not the most prolific of The Beatles, but man when he lit it up he burned bright as the sun itself.  What a gift he was to us all.  We all live more richly on account of him.

Not to get wacky religious, but this song has a profound spiritual feeling for me and it has even since I heard it as a kid over thirty years ago.
And they laid John to rest at only 40 years old.... He shined like the sun...
someone sang this the last time I was at karaoke. They credited it to Lennon/McCartney. That bugged me. oh well.
Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree and Paul McCartney have at least one thing in common (like bare feet). Steve always plays barefoot, which is pretty cool. Ha Ha.
Is this the Beatles' predicting global warming? If so, they say it's all-right... (it's a joke, be kind).
Wish we had some today.
What a wonderful way to start the day!!
Beatles till the end!!
WOO-HOOO! Happy Solstice `07 Northern Hemisphere! I'm so stinkin' tired of the dark....
I took a mix tape of some of my wife's favorite, soothing songs to the hospital with when out oldest was born. This was one of them. Very special for me.

You must not be old enough to remember the "Paul is dead" craze around 1969-70. Paul's different (and bare) foot forward on this album cover was one of the "clues."

I have been bad mouthing the old beatles music on RP lately. Nevertheless, I gave this one a ten. I guess it proves that even a hard-liner, like me, has his weak moments.
