It's way too late
To be this locked inside ourselves
The trouble is
That you're in love with someone else
It should be me
Oh, it should be me
Your sacred parts
Your getaways
You come along
On summer days
Tenderly
Tastefully

And so may we make time
To try find somebody else
This place is mine

You said today
You know exactly how I feel
I had my doubts, little girl
I'm in love with something real
It could be me
That's changing

And so may we make time
To try and find somebody else
Who has a line

Now seasoned with health
Two lovers walk a lakeside mile
Try pleasing with stealth, rodeo
See what stands long
Ending fast

Oh, how I love you in the evenings
When we are sleeping
We are sleeping
Oh, you are sleeping

And so may we make time
To try and find somebody else
Who has a line

Now seasoned with health
Two lovers walk a lakeside mile
Try pleasing with stealth, rodeo
See what stands long
Oh, ending fast

Coming so quickly after Keb Mo and Sly & Family: it really shines through what a load of c**p this 'group' really are. How on earth did they ever make it to the playlist ??

Yes, but more of a rhetorical one, Ryan.

that's why i loves 'em

The singer sounds quite a lot like Gordon Downie of the Tragically Hip, doesn't he?
I also get hints of the lead from She Wants Revenge, too. That's who I thought this was at first.
Great stuff

Interpol is my favorite new bands right now...absolutely love their new cd. Just saw them live in Philly and they were great. They may get lots of criticism from the RP crowd but I think it's great Bill plays some newer indie stuff mixed in with the normal RP fare. And I don't get the Interpol/Franz Ferdinand comparisons. Have people who say that ever listened to both cds?
The reasons for the comparisons is hat they are both basically doing retro-'80's New Wave/Post-Punk/Goth type music. They have very strong influences from bands like Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Dision, The Cure, Bauhaus, The Smiths, Devo, etc. I prefer Interpol to Franz Ferdinand. Like you, they are one of my favourite new bands, and Antics has been in steady rotation since I first purchased the CD last year.
Just not fond of this guy's mainly monotone singing
When I first started listening to Interpol (my daughter keeps me up with new music) I thought it all sounded the same, but it's really grown on me after several listenings, 'tll now it's one of my current favorites.
huh, i think these guys have another song on the radio (something about "why don't we look the other way") that sounds a lot like this one...
I don't know about T-Hip, but they sure sound like an updated BeeGee's to me. Same nasal tones. So-so.

But not quite huh? :)
these guys are huge over here in the UK. Seems you lot in the states have missed the point - as with a lot of decent new american bands they've had to come to the UK to make a name for themselves, thinking of.. kings of leon, scissor sisters, the bravery, BRMC, The Strokes, etc

Sure. There a number of bands that are ripping off early Joy Division, and IMHO they are doing so poorly: Interpol, Franz Ferdinand and Elephant are virtually interchangeable and shallow. They all have that mournful singing front man with not much musical talent behind them. Is that all today's music has to offer??
Is that really a serious question?
Eh, not sure why all the carping about the vocals, I think the guy's voice is pleasant enough and well-suited for the task. And if the vocals remind me of anyone, it's the singer for the lamentable band "Dead or Alive." I will agree on the Interpol/Franz Ferdinand interchangeability mentioned earlier. It's getting hard to distinguish among the recent bumper-crop of NouveauHipsterEdgyGlamRock bands. For what it's worth, this wave of mostly uninteresting derivative rock is a lot less annoying than previous such waves. Occasionally it's even enjoyable. Music fans have suffered through far worse.
very likable voice!
I hear shades of Jim Morrison in some of the vox

Interpol is more than inspired by Joy Division and Televison...borderline ripoff.

I certainly hear a lot of both here. And why not? There are much worse bands to be inspired by if you ask me. ;)

a lot of the tracks on this album remind me of latter-day ("LA Woman"-era) Doors.

Where did that come from!! :D
Sadly, I was the victim of severe testing during the 70's, 80's, AND 90's...
Friend of mine at work loaned me the first Interpol CD, I have since bought it and the new one ("Antics"). Despite the negative comments here so far, these are two pretty good CD's.
3 - 2 = 1
ugh.... really don't like this guy's voice.
