I'm rolling down a well worn road
I'm wondering if I'll ever know
If I'll be better than I was before
When I surface through the service door

Bye
I'm on standby
Out of order or sort of unaligned
Powered down for redesign
Bye bye
I'm on standby
According to the work order they signed
I'll be down for some time
I'll be down for some time

I got good at saying "I gotta go"
Number one at saying "I don't know"
But from the stories that I heard
You humans require more words

Bye
I'm on standby
Out of order or sort of unaligned
Powered down for redesign
Bye bye
I'm on standby
According to the work order you signed
I'll be down for some time
I'll be down for some time

I think I hate this song.

Sorry. But that was just plain awful. I can sing better than that (and I can't sing). Almost seems like a joke.
I know this is months old, but I just had to check.... this from someone who gave Beatles "Fool on the Hill" a 1 and Yes "I've seen all good people" a 10.
Our work order system is currently down. I'm working on it though, so quit trying to send work orders saying the work order system is down and then calling me on the phone to tell me that the work order system is down. Just read the message that says that the work order system is down and phone your requests to the help desk. Whoops didn't know anyone else was listening to my thoughts.
Very nice indeed

super
I can relate...and I love the chorus melody.
Just getting in to Grandaddy - very cool & laid back. Love their sense of humour. Agree with the comment that this one is like the Flaming Lips
ouch
This smacks of The Flaming Lips' "One More Robot"! But I still like it.
I sure love the lyrics. Lame guitar solo though.
At first I thought this was the Joe Walsh tune "sometimes(?)"...
I was about to leave Ireland on a standby flight when I first heard this song (was actually in the process of making my flight arrangements on the Internet) so it seemed very relevant to me. Especially since I was leaving family members behind. Listening to the words however, I realise the song is actually written from the point of view of a computer about to get a service. Either way, I like it.
What is that fart sound?
It's like "Alan Parsons Lite", another attempt, another flop, zzzzzzzzzzz

Hey way to go! Good stuff. Thanks for putting the good word out there for these guys.
Don't really like the guy's voice, but the rest is pretty decent...
The arrangement is snore-worthy, and the guy\'s voice sounds like he got clipped before puberty. Blah.
This is starting to grow on me. I\'ve upped my rating to a 7.
Where's the emoticon that shows a smiley little head running through a field tossing little flower petals in the air when you need it?
Yeah, just accentuate that nasal quality in your voice dude so we think it\'s a novelty instead of a cover up of the fact you can\'t sing. Sure fooled us.
Kinda Cool. Have to say, I thought it was Sean Kelly from The Samples at first.

Yeah, it's a pretty good album. Not as experimental as their previous release "The Sophware Slump" but more listenable.

Sung in the style of someone who is very aware that they can\'t sing.
