I'm stunned by the vitriol below about this song. How can you not like this? Yes. Its derivative. Yes. Its the same as everything else. BUT WHO CARES! It just rocks. Stop looking for Mozart and just listen to the music. This song has a catchy backbeat and is simply fun. Every now and then we need some fun.
Basic as it may be, this song has more merit that some others here on RP that people fall all over themselves praising. (For example, the John Hiatt song that's playing now, but there are many others.)
you know... I was just saying to myself "I wonder what would Southern Culture On The Skids would sound like if you removed the humor factor, and made it kinda not so good"...
