You don't have a clue
What it is like to be next to you
I'm here to tell you
That it is good, that it is true
Birds singing a song, old paint is peeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
Words can't be that strong, my heart is reeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
Try, try to forget what's in the past
Tomorrow is here
Love, orange sky above, lighting your way
There's nothing to fear
Birds singing a song, old paint is peeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
Words can't be that strong, my heart is reeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
Some people are good, babe in the hood
So pure and so free
I'd make a safe bet you're gonna get
Whatever you need
Birds singing a song, old paint is peeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
Words can't be that strong, my heart is reeling
This is that fresh, that fresh feeling
That fresh feeling
This is that fresh feeling
What it is like to be next to you

The beginning of this song reminds me of Games Without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel...

This is a fantastic Album! I´ve got it on vinyl. It´s played quiet often. That sound gives me a fresh feeling.

I love this song.
Never heard it until RP.
These guys do not have the best voice or music … but the VIBE is huge.
I had that stale sad cowboy/ songwriter stank on me
but Now?!......I feel fresh!!
(like it? Don't steal it!)

The PBS show was "Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives" about E's dad, Hugh Everett. It aired in 2008. No idea how to see it now, but you've piqued my interest.
most excellent song and album I think
I listen to EELS in a completely different way after seeing the guy on that Nova episode. Interesting (not so good) environment he grew up in with his very eccentric, very intelligent dad. Always around but never there (kind of)

always laugh when I think "is it Beck or Eels?" frequently wrong...
Grieg's "Morning Mood" segue to Eels; now that was a transition! Brilliant stuff.

Gorgeous, definitely!
Seems the Eels walk on a thin line between being
GORGEOUS and GARBAGE!
Guess what this is...?

These guys did the soundtrack for the movie Yes Man.
If you're into melodic, romantic tunes, the stuff they put on that soundtrack is definitely worth checking out.

Love the Eels! Not my favorite song of theirs, but a good one nonetheless
and its a soap commercial.

outstanding Song, Like to hear more Eels on RP, never heard Eels on a radio station before
Dig that album art!
Feminine Protection Ad ... totally makes sense ... all they need is the lyrics to include spring rain
This would be a great song for a panty liner commercial...
more eels please
Great 70s string section. This song works.

Very Beck-ish for Eels..but they haven't half the talent.
I wouldn't say one was more talented than the other. They're both great; just different (except maybe in this case).
I love 'E' and eels, and I have to give this a 7 just because it makes me laugh thinking about douche commercials.

I thought it was Beck and had to check, since it seemed too poppy for him . . .

joyful, joyful, joyful.
I try to keep this station on until they play the Eels.
I am joyful.
Leaves me with that "not so fresh feeling." Give it a 4

This gets a 9!
This song is incredible. It's definitely the best Eels song, which is a tough title to assign. Way to go RP for playing this great song!
and boring
Only heard a couple of Eel tunes. I likey this.
Awwwwww........ *sigh*
groov-eeee

Good to know. That's one nice thing about iTunes and the like - just download the winners and leave the wienners alone...

I really like this song, and I bought the album (Souljacker) based on the songs I heard here on RP, but I must say that the album on the whole is *very* uneven. The songs that get play here (Fresh Feeling, Friendly Ghost, etc) are great, but the rest of the stuff - That's Not Really Funny, Souljacker, are at best mediocre. It's weird, because the good songs are *really* good. Put the best of this record with the best of Electro-Shock blues and you'd really have something.
Nice groove and that album cover earns bonus points for sure!
Nice
They've been around for a long time, but I still don't know much about the Eels. I have yet to hear one of their songs that I don't like though. I've really got to seek out one of their cds. Thanks RP, for turning me onto yet another great band.
I love this song.
When this song started I thought perhaps it was Sgt. Peppers.
Hmm, I've heard some Eels material before, but never this one. And I really like it.
From the moment it started it 'drew' me in... :sunny.gif:

That's how I felt too. Hard to believe the same person/people wrote all the songs on that album.
I predict this song will turn up in a feminine or hygiene product commercial.
Great melody and chord choices, is there anything wrong with that?
I don\'t think so.
getting a little tired of this one.

Ahh, thanks. I needed this. It never fails to get me in a good mood :)
Beck and E might do an album together? Wow. You learn something new every day. Now that's something I'll definitely have to buy if/when it comes out. Such extremely high levels of coolness. Phia is happy today.

BUT, this could also work for toothpaste, mouthwash or gum! I can see it now...how fresh...I love this song and I love this band. What orginally attracted me to this station was looking at the playlist and seeing \"Woman Driving Man Sleeping\". I thought \"if this station plays the Eels, it\'s got to be good!\" and I\'m not disappointed! :) A fantastic song for a fantastic radio station. I\'ve always loved this one. It makes me feel so happy listening to it.
Anyone think the lead vocalist of this group sounds a lot like Beck? That's by no means a bad thing, but all I can think about when one of their songs comes on is how much the guy reminds me of Beck.
A sweet, pop-y song from E. and the gang? I keep waiting to hear the sarcasm/anger that I love about his songs. But this is pleasantly pleasing. Kinda Fresh Feeling.
I\'m goign to have to buy Soul Jacker now...
too harsh for my tender ears
Nice vibe...
Simple... Very, very nice.
:)
Cool. I had never heard of the Eels before I started listening to RP, but they\'re on my shopping list now. Keep their songs coming!
always laugh when I think "is it Beck or Eels?" frequently wrong...
How funny! I used to think the same and not because they sound alike! but something about the two… maybe just coz same generation music. Dunno. But it’s funny that someone out there thought the same!
