One of my all-time favorite albums

I used to listen to this in dark when i was still in kindergarten, laying in bed with my walkman, mom bought the tape for herself...

Good times :)

Cool story. Thank You for sharing it.

You too huh? This whole CD still makes me feel 'odd' - and before anyone asks, no it's not me he's married to

Your comment made me chuckle.... congrats!

Wouldn't the Romans have preferred the more succinct "MXM" to "MCMXC"?
Just wondering.

MXM is not forbidden but considered bad, erroneous, style.
You can subtract only with the directly inferior unit : I from V and X, X from L and C, C from D and M.
History shows recurrent irregularities, either because of very specific contexts or simply from mistakes, popular use, and evolution of language.

Oh my.  This is the album we were all having sex to in the 90s.  Memories....
awesome transition from the clash song to this. so sweet.
i like it in the mix, but not keen on the track, if that makes sense

1991 actually translates to the Roman numeral MCMXCI. The UK release was 1990, the US release was 1991. Album recorded directly to hard drive, heralding the future in recording. Lucky for them they didn't call it 4000 - there is no translation to Roman numerals after 3999.

Remember MCMXCI is pronounced 1991st...  Roman numerals are ordinals, not cardinals. ( See Henry VIII.)

That said.  I have a frustrated desire to write 149th as CIL.
Long time no hear for me......still a great track off a great album.
Another brilliant segue by the master DJ - from The Clash's Straight to Hell.

seems like this was the beginning of electronica music.

ah, 1990...may it rest in peace, along with this song :)
I had a feeling that if I looked at the comments most would not like Enigma :(
It's German if anything... a slick "trendy" pop production, going back to Boney M and Modern Talking, see AMG...
Enigma is acceptable at best. They are good for adding a litte spice to the mix but a steady diet of them would bore me to tears. Kinda like most things French!
Ooohhhh...love Enigma. Great stuff man. This station keeps on pleasing :-) Reminds me of college.

So something good DID escape France... go figure... Agreed with others.. it seems you have to either like or not most of enigma.. I've purchased their other albums based on the original and I've not been diappointed.. mostly meditative, sometimes good to relax on the long drive home from work, especially after leaving RadioParadise at the office ;) :D
I really liked these guys back in the day, but this stuff doesn\'t age very well.

Don\'t dig the techno-monks. Reminds me of that Pepsi Blue commercial they\'ve been playing endlessly during the World Series.
