Carry on with your madness
I can't hear you anymore
You could scratch on my window
And knock on my door
I'm not afraid of your presence
Your shadow on the wall
Don't take me for granted
Don't take me at all
I'm still alive
Like a fire still burning in the dead of the night
I'm alive
And the angel of mercy is right by my side
You act like I owe you
But I'm not in your debt
I've seen you before
And I'd like to forget
You're a face in the dark
And a thief in the night
You wanna take my heart
You wanna put out the light
I'm still alive
Like a fire burning in the dead of the night
I'm alive
And the angel of mercy is right by my side
I will go on forever and forever I'll be
In God's grace through all eternity
No, no, nothing will change
Nothing will change, I'm still alive
Read about you in the paper
You're all over TV
You come off as my saviour
But you can't save me
And I walk with the shadows
The darkness is my friend
I can face tomorrow
I can face the end
I'm still alive
Like a fire still burning in the dead of the night
I'm alive
And I will not surrender, I will survive
I'm alive
Like a fire burning in the dead of the night
I'm alive
And the angel of mercy is right by my side

I interviewed him years ago for a now defunct audio magazine. I have rarely encountered a more unassuming and compassionate man. He is a survivor of the first echelon.

So, it's been a little while since this song was played, and unfortunately, it's the only one on RP by Mr. Hillman, but after having seen him last night with Herb Pederson at the Breedlove Guitar Festival, I must say, this guy is a master of the genre.  You can just feel the history and the legacy oozing out of this fellow.  What a treat it was to discover this talented man.  He truly can jam a Mandolin like nobody's business.
Byrds or no Byrds this is 80's tripe.

This is beyond weak.

chris has a lot of amazing history behind him and alot more talent. quite a bit more than kenny does. and he's not doing the current indian casino/ state fair circuit. looking at your highest rated songs, i'm surprised you ragged on him. some of the artist you favor, have had some close association with him.

Always wondered what happened to Chris Hillman. Last I heard of him was the Byrds reunion album, about 25 years ago. Guess he\'s still alive.
