I see a bad moon rising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightning.
I see bad times today.
Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes a-blowin'.
I know the end is comin' soon.
I feel rivers overflowin'.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
Alright!
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.
Well, don't go round tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
Don't come around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightning.
I see bad times today.
Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,

When I was 12, I thought the lyric was “One Eye has taken Foreign Eye”. When I finally saw the real lyric, it seemed to make more sense!
There is an excelent version of this song done by 16 Horsepower on their live-album Hoarse.

OK, now this is very scary: As this was playing, the Radio Paradise server blew up .. well not literally .. but YKWIM. Yikes!

You serious? If so, what a load of crap.
Yeah, about 20 one hit wonders. CCR was and remains one of THE American bands. They sold as many or more records in their '69-'75 time as any other band. You can look it up. They just about INVENTED the hybrid of rockabilly and blues for the Vietnam-era audience. Their covers of blues classics reintroduced the material to fresh ears, and their socially conscious songs — among them Bad Moon Rising and Fortunate Son — have long been part of the American popular musical canon. Springsteen shows up at John Fogerty concerts and vice versa. Bruce's Glory Days and Fogerty's Center Field are twin songs of different mothers. The Beatles and the Stones are some of the few bands that had more 'one hit wonders'.

Ahhh...hearing Bad Moon Rising from CCR takes me right back to this era when I was roughly 4 years old. I remember riding along in the passenger seat of my Dad's 1970 Chevy C/10 pick-up truck in which he installed a Kraco cassette deck (w/recording function. Why did they make such a thing?! This was new technology back then, right?) complete with speaker boxes he built hidden under the bench seat (Jensen speakers, I think). My Dad knew and still knows good music at age 69 (this month).
Thanks for the great memories, Dad!

Yes sharkey, i see ... so, why do you not protest against those interests that control of capitalist monopolies, which are infiltrated in the music world, and are responsible for this savagery of "tipping" YouTube videos? What misery .....
("This video has been removed by the user." and "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated." are excuses to cover up the names of the labels responsible for that, and you can not exercise your censorship also, when you see these seals on the products they sell).
What they forget is that these attitudes are increasingly encouraging piracy. And it is deserved.

Fogerty puts on one of the best live shows you will ever see.
It's cold, David, and I'm so alone. The undead surround me. Have you ever talked to a corpse? It's boring! I'm lonely! Kill yourself, David, before you kill others...Beware the moon, David.
Ooompah, oompah, oompah.

Me, lame? Absolutely. I brag about it all the time. Rating 1. This song drives me nuts, what can I say?
I kinda have to give them a good rating outta respect although this song, frankly, has never did *it* for me. If The Dude convinces The Stranger to dig well then..
I dont know why, but I hate every song of CCR.

Apart from the nostalgia this seems to incite, is it really a good song?
This tune remind me of The Big Lebowski and makes me smile

I can't rate this song low enough. It was a bad song to begin with, but it is still so overplayed on all the commercial radio stations (not to mention all the late-night TV commercials hawking CCR's greatest hits (um...one song?), that it just doesn't belong here.
Ditto!

This is the first song I learned on the guitar. I got to practice my D cord a bunch.

You saw this movie as a kid? Must have been quite a liberal upbringing. This movie scared the $*#& out of me and made me laugh.

Nonetheless, I firmly believe that some songs are unassailable and this is one of them.

Some fine Canadian reasoning. I agree 100%.

Amen Halleluja! a solid 9!
Ah yes, one eye is taken for an eye ....
Lovely song and commentary on Those Bad Times.
Revenge, retribution, fear, loathing, hate and love.
Pretty basic stuff.
EVERYtime is the right time for a little Creedence....

RP has 24 (!) tracks from "Chronicle" in the playlist. All CCR songs on RP are from this CD.
I remember that I hesitated a long time in buying my CCR compilation CD, even though I really liked their music. It was just the album covers that put me off, what with all the beards and dungarees and hairy hippie smiles...
Great band, who created many timeless classics.

Now I'm going to have those words stuck in my head "there's a bathroom on the right"
Great song. A little overplayed, though...

In his early band(s?) they didn't have a PA for gigs so he became a screamer out of necessity. Try it sometime and get back to me in a couple days when you can talk again. If he was a Fortunate Son he would have had a nice PA and a trust fund and maybe been a breathy New Age guy.
He also would probaly have had a lawyer who could read a frigging contract.
Yeah! Happy Friday.

And all I think about is The Big Lebowski.
"I wouldn't hold out for the tape deck."
"Or the Creedence."
What is this JACK-FM? Make this stop! It gets a 1. Not for bad quality but for sheer annoyance factor.
Phew. It's over...
I never could get into this guy's voice. I like what he's all about, but his voice just doesn't do it for me.
The joke, back in school, was that they were saying "There's a bathroom on the right." Actually, there were some who thought that was what they were saying.
Sorry, but I like Sixteen Horsepower's version much better.
I can't hear this song without thinking about American Werewolf...and giggling.
Thanks Bill!
That may stay in the usual playlist...
