Are we friends
Are we more
There's no proof
You describe
Your exploits
I approve
(And) if I
Make a move
Diverge
Into two
Or collide
With our lips
Noon on the equator
It's noon on the equator
But instead
I withdrew
Didn't want
To lose you
But you left
Anyway
Packed your bags
Sold your place
Till now
Never knew
That you cared for
Me too
Until now
Never knew
That I hurt you
It's noon on the equator
Are we more
There's no proof
You describe
Your exploits

Make a move
Diverge

Informally: given that night is known to occur, and its widely-observed occurrence is not in much dispute, it can't possibly be always noon on the equator. Nor can it be noon always on the equator.
The equator is a line - imaginary - that encircles the globe. The equator is divided by the lines that demarcate the ~24 time zones (this is grosso modo, as things get higgledy-piggledy for various reasons...). "Noon", taken strictly, is a discrete time (i.e., clock time) rather than a period of time (e.g., "lunch-time"*). So "noon" occurs instantaneously, once in each time zone, successively, as the earth's rotation puts the east-west center of the lit face of the planet directly facing the center of the sun. "Noon" happens roughly 24 times each day, therefore — just in different time zones.
* If you relax the meaning of "noon" to mean something close to "lunch-time", then, yes, you can say that it's always noon somewhere on the equator.
which came first, the Sun, or humans creation of time?

I am NOT a scientist....but isn't it always noon on the equator?

No, that doesn't happen. Anyway, in the real world, from any point on the equator the Sun rises and sets just like anywhere else. What's unique about the equator is that the Sun will be directly overhead at noon, that's all.
It's always noon somewhere on the equator. Also 5 o'clock, but that's another song.

When you say "I'm not a scientist but <scientifically inaccurate statement>" you are basically prompting everyone who considers themselves a scientist to reply "well actually, <scientific reality>".
Sure it was just a joke, but it wasn't really obvious.

One thing I love about the Internet is that you can just muse and think out loud and joke around. When you talk to your friends, do they act like everything you say is going to be graded or judged as if you were submitting a dissertation? Of course not. It should be the same here on a music comment board.... I dont take dissertations or even professional critcs seriuously in matters of entertainment or art...So why in the world should I expect anyone to take me seriously....just have fun here.....i love this comment board...

The Sun does indeed rise and set as seen from the equator. However, the Sun will be directly overhead on the equator at apparent solar noon on the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, but not on other days. On the Tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees north latitude), the Sun is directly overhead at apparent solar noon on the summer solstice; on the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees south latitude), that occurs on the winter solstice (which is actually the start of summer there, since the solstices are named after the Northern Hemisphere seasons). At points between the two tropic circles, the Sun passes overhead on two days a year, one in the spring and the other in the summer; which two particular days depends on the latitude, with both dates approaching the appropriate solstice as you approach the tropic circles. The "tropics" is the region between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn - in other words, the tropics is the region where the Sun can pass straight overhead. Outside the tropics, you are either too far north or too far south for that to happen.

Their video for "I Say Fever" is also amazing!

After hearing this song the first time on RP, I bought the album (as well as the previous one) and cannot listen to them enough. Some absolutely great cuts on both record.
Hey RP, let's add a couple more Ramona Falls songs to the playlist. Spore and Bellyfula would be great adds.

Or rather was... but at least Brent's departure should put an end to labeling Ramona Falls a "side project." What an ugly term...
hmm. As much as I like Intuit - their debut -, Prophet is a stunning record as well, if almost too full of ideas and sound layers at times. Fittingly enough, the artwork is anything but ordinary.
@Bill & Rebecca: Thanks for the insta-add!
