You're "hearing" all these other great artists. That is homage, not replication. These great ladies deserve their wherewithall based on their own merits. Right?

You mean The Pretenders, right? LOL!
Honestly? I was hearing "The Bed's Too Big Without You" in there myself.
But who am I?

I think sucko-barfo just about sums it up.

I am not at all familiar with this tune! So good! I have both of the other Babble albums, and that seems to be all that's out there. Is this from a third album that I am not aware of?
Bob Marley meets Gorillaz
Ho hum
I was not feeling it at first, but was nodding my head before long. Reminds me of Thievery Corporation a bit. Great mix — not crazy about some parts but good electro-dub with good use of delay and I like the Ace of Base-esque synth
Makes my subwoofer do some woofing in a good way
This is cool.
Are they saying "like Belly needs a bass line"?
Sounds a bit Tom Tom Club-ish

You'll like Pete Cogle's Dub Zone, then (and thanks to the RP listener who pointed me towards it). This song is way cool and a foot-tappingly scrumptious mashup. Sexy voice, too :o). 9 from the Nottingham jury.

nice and dubby!
Wow, I definitely like this. :-P
Wow - I REALLY don't like this. Sorry RP, but this is a definite
Thompson Twins
All we need is DUB!
What about Alpha & Omega, tapa zuki and some interesting digiDUB?,

Other than the fact that both are very excellent, I don't see a big similarity, other than the nice clean production. For what it's worth, I still use The City Sleeps to voice PA systems, and I have since I got the CD.
Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like MC 900 Foot Jesus — The City Sleeps?

Is it just me, or is there a beeping sound in this track that is precisely tuned to simulate the effect of an icepick jabbing again and again into one's temporal lobe?

My first thought was Conjure One... but MC900 Ft Jesus - yeah, that too.

Interesting - I really thought this was Thievery Corporation until the vocalist kicked in. Nice to hear a bit dub in the mash. 8 from the Nottingham jury.

A weird hybrid between Deep Forest and Madonna's "Justify My Love..."
From the movie?
>>Edit<< Uh, no. Answered my own question...
Babble is the duo of New Zealand native Alannah Currie (b. September 28, 1957) and Englishman Tom Bailey (b.January 18, 1956), who formerly made up the Thompson Twins, a dance-rock band that charted with seven albums in the U.S. between 1982 and 1989, the most successful of which was the million-selling Top Ten hit Into the Gap (1984), which featured their biggest single, "Hold Me Now" (#3). They reorganized as a six-piece band with Indian and new age influences and released their first album as Babble, The Stone, in 1994. In 1996, they returned with Ether.
