This sounds like something a marching band would have played in 80's and that's a good thing!!! I could totally here a band or corps rocking this out
First time I hear this, recognized Fela's voice.
wow, this swings!

Love: "I'm boppin it super way out"
Good music.
More Fela Kuti, please. He's incredible! :)
I’ve always been really surprised that you guys don’t play more Fela! So many great songs, and a lot better that this one, too...
It's like drinking lots of coffee without those annoying bathroom breaks!
I watched "Music is the Weapon" over and over and over again. He was a great musician but more importantly, he was revolutionary
So this is where Quantic Soul Orchestra got his sound.
Just not a fan of music that sounds like the recording is in a loop or the phono needle is stuck for those old enough to relate to that :^ /
{#Hearteyes}
I enjoy a Fela Kuti song every now and again. But it seems to me that all of his songs are essentially the same song.

great documentary - also worth watching the Ginger Baker film. He drove to Nigeria and played with Fela
Now maybe work in some Mulatu Astatke!

I like it OK....just a little repetitious in spots.

If you enjoy this music, then please check out this double album of Afro Pop from Nigeria back in the 1970’s!

The 2nd half of the second disc sounds like this is the very music that influenced Brian Eno, that then gave the Talking Heads their “sound”.
"You should both be aware;It has been scientifically proven that the perfect song length is 2:42"

That would make me a audio science denier then. I don't believe that one shoe fits all.  How many 2:42 second songs have you listened to and said, "Damn, that ended too early" or "What? That's all I get?" And what kind of music are we talking about? And what kind of listening are we doing?

Not liking 20 minute tracks means you need to expand your listening experience. Complaining about them does indeed make you a cry baby.

You should both be aware;It has been scientifically proven that the perfect song length is 2:42. Here is a list of songs of that length:
King Missile: "Jesus Was Way Cool". Boards of Canada: "Sherbet Head". The Fall: "Neighborhood of Infinity". Galaxie 500: "Leave the Planet". Sonic Youth: "Providence" .Smog: "Your Wedding". Lee "Scratch" Perry: "Yakety Yak",,,,,,eXPAND THAT,,,,,YOU NARK ME !       (I THINK)

This is an 'eclectic' station aimed at a range of tastes. Playing any 'album-side-length' (ie > 20 mins) is going to piss folk off who don't like that type of music, and lose listeners. There are plenty of long tracks I'd love to hear played but my tastes aren't others, and there are long track from, say, The Who, which nark me. Not liking 20 minute tracks isn't the mark of a "crybaby" - have some respect for your fellow listeners, and think of how pissed off you'd be if 20 minutes of RP airtime was taken up by something you loathed.

As for this track - in one ear and out the ear without leaving any sign of its passing. I'm aware that Fela Kuti is famous, accomplished and whatnot, in which case this can't be anything near his best.

I wonder what the reaction to "Water No Get Enemy" would be?
The last several tunes make me think of 60's television incidental music:  Batman, The Saint, It Takes a Thief, etc.
Yep ... 70's urban ... nice ...
Great song!

...Silly people, music isn't about women... it's about MuSiC!

In this case, tone-deaf girls. I would like to strangle that horn section...one-by-one...{#Arghhh}

Yeah Fela!  I love this music.  This guy was a real character in life.  He was married to his whole band (female members only).

I agree! But playing proper album-side-length Fela is like playing album-side-length Coltrane: too taxing for some of the short-attention-span crybabies here.

Oh yeah! Although this is WAY too short a fix for a Fela-junkie! C'mon, play the mighty "Water No Get Enemy" or something seriously MEATY! One for us Africans, in short!

Roforofo Fight - is his best work imo. I have it on my phone and use it as an alarm. It's the only alarm I've never found annoying

Fela Fela Fela Fela.

The horn hook on this immense!

Like this groove!

Outstanding! Fela and Tony Allen. Legends.
