Lord knows I can feel her, see her, in my mind
And her spoken words ring through my head
Though I'm lost, I can hear them calling me there
Hey, the song, do you feel (feel)
Leave your light on through the night
Love (love) and loss so dear
You know it's a long way home
Well a lonely road to the promised land
May be long but I see the end some day
To broken lives on the mountain side
Out in the cold, kinda hurried shifting sands
They're in the other world to where you lie
Pulling your heart then the ravens say goodbye
Hey, the song, do you feel?
And leave your light on through the night
Loss, from .... so dear
You know it's a long way home
I've always thought this Supergrass tune sounded like John Lennon in his post-Beatles era.

Led Zep Going to California?
Also Given to Fly (Pearl Jam).... William is being clever -- again :)
Does he get that effect on his vocals by singing through a Leslie speaker?
The flutter on the synth sounds like it's gone through a Leslie as well, but these days I imagine they're a bit of a rarity. Pretty much everything is done in the digital domain.
in her hair...
This sounds like that Pearl Jam song that sounds like the Zeppelin song.
Someone did not like your joke! I got it! :-)

I love it.
Its taken me years to figure out what song this melody reminds me of
Led Zep Going to California?
Nice transition from Pearl Jam's Given to Fly 👌

Echoes of Blue Jay Way in terms of voice distortion (or however they did it back then)
Nice song regardless.
Edit: Correction...found two others from 14 years ago.
The flaming Lips with John Lennon
I think you mean 'Given To Fly'.
Fits my chillin state o mind!

Zep owes millions to American blues songwriters
i don't think page/plant should file a lawsuit over it
I heard they actually ripped off a song from "Spirit"

Agreed! I'm going 7→8 today, finding that I REALLY like this track. I wonder though...is 'Fin' a reference to the French word "End?" As in, the end of a relationship?
Actually...nevermind...I'm enjoying this enough w/out any lost love concepts. Long Live RP!!
Someone with a sentiment after my own heart . . .
Going to California. I would be suing.
Good luck with that, Perry Mason.

Does no one think this vocal resembles Annie Lennox?

Yeah, 'cause we know that Zeppelin isn't guilty of ripping music off. I guess two wrongs don't make a right though...

avarage homegrown does the job!
But even supergrass cannot help this boring piece!
Nothing wrong with that — steal from the best - good tune.
Right on.
me2.
After many years of spreading global bonhomie, releasing a collection of classic singles and six great studio albums, SUPERGRASS announce that they have split due to the 17 year itch.
The group will play 4 farewell shows in June, starting at Glasgow Barrowlands on June 8 and ending with their final ever show in Paris on June 11.
The group formed in 1993 and their first single, the era-defining “Caught By The Fuzz”, was released in 1994; since then they have gone on to carve their totally idiosyncratic and not insubstantial niche in rock music over six studio albums and some of the punchiest singles of our time.
The group said today: “Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. We still love each other but, cliché notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on and of course we all wish each other well in the future”

No. Late 60s psychedelic Beatles. Sheer genius.
sounds a little "Ween"ish, huh. This is a good album that I wouldn't have purchased if I hadn't heard 'em on RP.

I like to think that they are just wearing their influences on their sleeves with this one.

beautiful song, great selection!
me too, me too, me too and not me! Coffee in the Pot is too much fun!

Funny...I thought the same thing.

"Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair..."
Just that one musical phrase that almost matched completely (till the end where I think it dips down instead of up) with the Led Zep tune.
need to starch it up a bit boys

Good one Bill!
....goin' to California...in the morn....
if they made versions "covers" would be more still acceptable -
