You know I'm here waiting for you
I'm just a cross-hair
I'm just a shot away from you
And if you leave here
You leave me broken, shattered I lie
I'm just a cross-hair
I'm just a shot, then we can die
I know I won't be leavin' here with you
I say don't you know
You say you don't know
I say... take me out!
I say you don't show
Don't move, time is slow
I say... take me out!
I say you don't know
You say you don't go
I say... take me out!
If I move, this could die
If eyes move, this can die
I want you... to take me out!
I know I won't be leaving here with you
Oh, I know I won't be leaving here
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I say don't you know
You say you don't know
I say... take me out!
If I wane, this could die
If I wait, this could die
I want you to take me out
If I move this could die
If eyes move this can die
Come on... take me out!
I know I won't be leaving here with you
Oh, I know I won't be leaving here
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I know I won't be leaving here with you
I want to rename my band Gavrilo Princip just so these guys might let us open for them.
If you did, you'd kill it.
Es gibt unterbewertete und überbewertete Bands. Franz Ferdinand sind letzteres, finde ich.
Agreed.
Edmund: Do you mean "Why did the war start?"
...
Baldrick: I heard that it started when a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich 'cause he was hungry.
Edmund: I think you mean it started when the Archduke of Austro-Hungary got shot.
Baldrick: Nah, there was definitely an ostrich involved, sir.
...
Baldrick: So the poor old ostrich died for nothing.

Another reason I love RP:
The breadth of knowledgeable snark that permeates this place... :-)
I just LOVE it when this song hits that 'slow down' part.
I LOVE to read a comment from 17 years ago :)
Lol, nicely done
It's also one of the first songs I learnt on bass :D
Historically there is a rather strong connection with Franz Ferdinand and the killers, just not the band.

I say... take me out.
The riff is reminiscent to LZ's Trampled Under Foot.
Aaand right now :)
and yet again
I say... take me out.
and again this morning

interesting.
I don't think you really hated "to remind everyone"; you probably enjoyed doing so. Is it possible to shoot a song in the back seat of a limousine which had taken a wrong turn?
Curse those darn kids and their jangly guitars!
covered this one in my last band...LOVED playing it!
Do you read Ken Follett books? Very cool stuff, the most recent of which is set in this era which obviously goes in depth about Austria, FF, etc.
I thought he was the Archduke.
Touche
I thought he was the Archduke.
A smart pop music set ... from "back then" and now... good way to start the morning!
I think you are referring to "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. There are similarities to that song in certain areas of this one.
That's it, I thought this was a rehash of something else.
Yes similar.
I suspect you're not being ironic. Believe me, this side of The Pond, FF have had a good few hits other than this one. Their star may have faded in recent years but they're still a big band in these parts.
Oh it hurts ! Can anyone tell me what this Band is good for ? They all scream about it - i havent heard any good song from it in years !!!
I think you might be needing some Geritol ...
doesn't ANYone hear KC and the Sunshine Band?
Not unless I absolutely can't reach the "off" button. ;-)
you owe me a cleaners bill.

EXACTLY! And "Float On" by Modest Mouse is inextricably linked to those in my mind as well.

Hopefully he's asking for a date and not requesting that he be whacked. . .
doesn't ANYone hear KC and the Sunshine Band?
Ha! That made me smile. As far as the band.. ehh I guess someone like this.
being compared to zep is a huge compliment.
i definately heard "trampled Underfott" in there
thats a good thing
I get a Trampled Underfoot thing along with various elements of Roxy Music, Talking Heads and Roy Wood
doesn't ANYone hear KC and the Sunshine Band?
Remix... not bad
Cover by Scissor Sisters... awesome
