The only part you need to know:
It's a beautiful world
There's a beautiful girl sitting with me
I think it's worth our while
To lean back and smile while it happens....

That's what I'm planning to do after work tonight...

I Agree. I never heard of them before.  That is why we come here.  Thanx RP!
Great song. I would like to find the lyrics. Anybody?
nice song.
Love this song and looked for it forever before finding the free download got discontinued and the name went into public domain for a new band to use.  Was able to directly contact a band member, told him the story of hearing and searching this song, and he sent me the song file and told me I made his day.  I subsequently used this song as one in a baseball playlist I used when broadcasting at my son's little league games.  Thanks again Patrick!
I'm sitting in the same desk I sat in about 14 years ago after being gone for 11 years.   I heard this song on RP and loved it so much I bought the cd.  They mailed me 2 cds , this one and another one.  Thanks for playing it again!
YEE HAAW!

Good tune! On a roll this morning, with bands that I have never heard of, prior to RP. ...Thanx RP!

I also would be willing to pay for it, but had no luck tracking it down.

I found the Knocking Round the Zoo CD on Discogs for 5 or 20 euros.

Heard this song a while back on RP.  Looked to get it and found that an mp3 of it used to be available on line.  Alas, no longer.  Took a chance and contacted a band member from their old site and lo and behold got a wonderful and kind response.  And the song!  Often play it during warm ups for my sons little league team. Great tune.
The  link appears to have been taken down, regrettably.

Took me years but I finally found it.  The entire CD is not as cool but they were a pretty good band during their brief reign.  PM me if you want information on how to find them.
So fucking awesome!
Love the harp!
There's a Jeepster in there somewhere.
Always got to turn it up for this one {#Bananajam}
{#No}  .....unless you're drunk in a college bar drinking Bud with beer-goggled woman all around you?!
I've been looking for this song off and on for some time now and I finally found it. You can listen to it here. Or you can buy the CD for $5 from the band here.

The above link for Artist's website is broken. I'm not affiliated with the band or either of the linked websites in any way, shape or fashion. I just really like this song and am excited I finally found where I can get my grubby little hands on a copy!

I always thought this was the Violent Fems... spin off?

To my ear, not even close.  This song shares characteristics with a general back beat and bass line from a few Femme Songs ("Add It Up" comes to mind first).  IMO, Femmes were more of the punk generation, and this sounds more folk/zydeco-ish to me.  (Please, no flames from genre purists).
Smile while it happens

Smiley.  Like it.  Not on Spotify.  Shame.  Not so smiley.
Bouncy, happy.
I always thought this was the Violent Fems... spin off?
This happy little ear worm seems impossible to buy on iTunes, etc., so I'm very glad RP plays it every so often.

I was almost expecting a cover of Blondie's "one way or another" during that intro

Song's cute, but I did not need to see that whining git, James Taylor's, photo. Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
hey did you notice the James Taylor album cover?
I hear Zookeepers... I see James Taylor.. Oh well.
Fun little tune. Toes are a tappin.
Anyone who doesn't appreciate this song is a cretinous fun sponge.
I know I shouldn't judge a band by one song but when i hear this I can't help but think Zookeepers is the perfect name for them...and that's a good thing{#Bananajumprope}

Tries just a little too hard, and doesn't quite get there.

Back at ya, dude. Yeah, I don't get it either. Seems like this one and Izzy's "Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World," among many, seem to bring out the worst in some folks. I mean, here's an upbeat tune about having fun and being alive, and WHAM! BAM! BOOM! here come the haters, like flies to honey. Now that Halo 3 is out, maybe they can shoot zombies or something more productive than cluttering up the song boards.
The song makes me smile. I'm glad RP plays it. Good catchy fun.
Not every tune needs to be transcendent, people.
Counting Crows after espresso shots?  ; )

Light, breezy, upbeat — nothing wrong with a little feel-good now and then - frivolous fun!{#Dancingbanana}

Eric Burdon reformed the Animals with a new backing band in 1998 as Eric Burdon and the New Animals. This was actually just a rename of an existing band he had been touring with in various forms since 1990. Members of this new group included Dean Restum, Dave Meros, Neal Morse and Aynsley Dunbar. Martin Gerschwitz replaced Morse in 1999 and Dunbar was replaced by Bernie Pershey in 2001. In 2003 the band started touring as Eric Burdon and the Animals. After the line-up changed in 2006 original guitarist Hilton Valentine reunited with the group for its 2008 tours. The group also included Red Young, Paula O'Rourke and Tony Braunagle. After Burdon lost the rights to the name, he formed a new band with completely different musicians.

Thanks crockydile! I love this kind of information. For those (few I hope) who have never heard of Eric Burdon and the Animals, they were part of the British Invasion in the 1960s and had a big hit with the song  'The House of the Rising Sun'.

Got to like this.  Upbeat, positive and they sound like they are just having fun.  If you can't enjoy the sentiment of this song I would think that total negative bitter attitude is the least of you problems.
