Oh no!!! Radio paradise is my favorite station. However, could play less reggae.
He showed them all the way to go with it..
Now this is a groove. Just love the melodica in it as well. Would like to hear some more from him.
Love me some AP! Perfect song for a perfect afternoon the first Friday of summer.
Die Anfänge eines neuen Sounds. Seiner Zeit weit voraus.

Well said. Peace back at you and this is an 8.
At last! More Reggae!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is as smooth as it gets. I love 70s dub.
While I know a lot of you REALLY dislike this music, please just allow me a moment of joy and let a brother have a little dance and smile at a track that gives me real pleasure before we get back to something you may like (and I perhaps don't).
Peace

Cool, now play some King Tubby, Scientist, and/or Mad Professor!
Oh man, it's getting better...thank you for this.

RP loves covers. This is an absolutely complete re-interpretation of Springsteen's so-so song from The River.
What did you say? Not Bruce's? oh... sorry. I guess my meds are off-balance again

That would be like saying the Beatles sound like Gomez.
This track is from the early 70s, way before Gorillaz.

Arrgh. Reggae. If I ran a radio station, it would be exaclty like RP, but we would ban reggae, that's how much I hate it.

I don't think I've heard Augustus Pablo on RP before! I hope my neighbors don't mind.

You know, I think you're right. At first, I didn't even recognize it due to the absence of vocals, different melody, different rhythym, new instruments, changed tempo, decreased Brucosity, and enhanced Augusticity.

Augustus Pablo played the melodica, which is a little keyboard powered by blowing into a tube. Gorillaz incorporates melodica into their songs sometimes.

I'm with you mahn. Do like their jerked pork with a cold Red Stripe though. I like blues more than just about anything which is basically the same riff repeated forever too but for some reason a reggae rhythm just grates.

Isn't Dub music usually a re-interpretaion of another work? way to go detective...

Right on point, though the opening drum break made me think we were about to hear "Watching The Detectives."

Dinjaknow - all reggae is "set to the beat of the healthy human heart at rest."
Me liketh much.
I just thought I'd Putamayo two cents in.
Jah bless his soul.
Why does every reggae artist with the exception of bob marley, jimmy clif, and toots come from that putumayo cd. You know there are alot better ones!!! I guess I'll just have to upload some and piss off all the reggae haters.

That's the exact reason I started reading these comments... it's pretty similar if it isn't a sample, anyway...

Not bad. Too short.

Classic Augustus Pablo dub groove....transporting

I thought I was going crazy when I thought I heard some gorrillaz in this song. At least I'm not going crazy by myself.
Great call. I had never heard this particular track before. Not every Augustus Pablo tune is great, but his best stuff has a cool, transporting vibe that is unlike any other reggae artist. My favorite album is "East of the River Nile", highly recommend if you're into this type of melodica-dub groove.
Reggae Burlesque is an odd combo. Sounds like a Casio Demo.

I agree with your police work a hundred percent, there Cynthos! It sounds A LOT like the gorillaz, although they I think they stole that sound from a lot of classic reggae groups.
What would they have all done without that cool part time echo-echo-echo-echo?
Har!
Usually like reggae, but this sounds like reggae with a dash of polka.
nice choice
did the gorrillaz sample this song or is it just me?
jeepie dance dance dance ...fun!
this is very good. great find, RP!
actually reminds me of Natural Mystic (one of my favorite Bob tunes) minus the vocals.
great selection. hope Augustus is happily putting down the vibes with Jah now...

It's good to challenge people. Your neighbours are probably far too comfortable in their comfort zones. Crank it up, share the joy
