He's a little out
And all these words alone
Is nothing like your poem
Putting in, inputting in
Don't feel like methadone
A scratching voice all alone
It's nothing like your baritone
It's nothing as it seems
The little that he needs, it's home
The little that he sees
Is nothing he can seize, it's home
One uninviting chromosome
A blanket like the ozone
It's nothing as it seems
All that he needs is home
The little that he frees
Is nothing he believes
Saving it for a sunny day
Something maybe, two tone
Anything of his own
A chip off the corner stone
Who's kidding? Rainy day
A one way ticket headstone
An occupation's overthrown
A whisper through a megaphone
It's nothing as it seems
The little that he needs, it's home
The little that he sees
Is nothing he concedes, it's home
And all that he frees
A little bittersweet, it's home
It's nothing as it seems
The little that he sees, it's home
maybe. maybe not. but, we (most of us who remember cynaera) love seeing her posts as they remind us of what a light in this world she was. she left us too soon and is missed.
Hear hear......
For Cynaera
This is probably the most random reason why someone has ever liked a song in the history of randomness

Such a powerful song.
I Agree! Thanx RP!
I shall forever be grateful to Pearl Jam for this.
How we miss you Cynaera........
I love the raw, dark emotion of this track but there are many other good tracks on this album, please play more Bill👍
I AGREE!!!
Very well stated!! ...Sounds great in FLAC through MY studio cans!!
I shall forever be grateful to Pearl Jam for this.

Dropping from a weak 3 to an ever weaker 2. These guys blow chunks
(LOL) I Bet Johnny wave surfs as bad as his taste in music!
this morning just went 8>9
THIS is like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and Portishead...but with his EV deliciousness. Thank you Bill! You never disappoint!
Side note - The beautifully crafted and directed Into the Wild absolutely would not be the same without Eddie's soundtrack. ALTHOUGH, the best song was written by local Bay Area songwriter and artist Jerry Hannan. :)
Yes, I prefer you're away...
And I have been knocking the side of my ol' PC in frustration! LOL... now you tell me, I will always here it as well. Yup, I can hear it
Thanks Jeff A for those and Mick McC for the lovely guitar.
Stay there................
Or did Ament write these lyrics?
same thing today! Decks Dark-loving it
Chunks of heavy delicious grunge

Not all of us have deep souls,I guess. This is strikingly beautiful and haunted.
This is real.
ps just upped it to a 10 to compensate, but it made no difference.
.....and why not
I shall forever be grateful to Pearl Jam for this.
Trolling down the comments ALWAYs reveals gold! Peace
One of THE BEST, in top 5 for me personally
Given your moniker I would expect no less. How many shows have you seen? Were you at Alpine Valley?
I was there on the 4th. Magical and spiritual.
I too like it. Love this one and all the songs from the record. Especially live.

Binaural is a tremendous album, and in many ways a departure for the band.
You all should check it out.

showing again sirdorseph's complete lack of credibility - just take a quick look at the great songs this person rates a 1 or 2
1 - Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll 1 - Derek and the Dominoes - Layla 2 - David Bowie - Heroes

Children, could you please take your little quarrel off-board? One person's great songs are another person's hell. It's life. Deal with it. BTW: lemmoth, you misspelled sirdroseph's name - was that intentional, or does "lack of credibility" not apply to dyslexics? And sirdroseph - I find your "suck balls" expression a bit offensive. Couldn't you change it to something like "slobber on testicles"?
I am SO getting banned from this board.....
Cyanera (intentional) you are one funny woman.
Peace be unto you and sirdroseph

There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who know binary and those who don't.
I love that joke.

But if there is indeed any influence of P. Floyd, only P. Jam will can makes clear when they worked on this song.....and if so, this only enhances the music of P. Jam, i think.

Ceptin for one little thing Shine On You Crazy Diamond is one of the greatest songs of all times and this one sucks balls; other than that, yea, they are very similar.

Because Mr. Young and PJ have a big-time mutual admiration society. Several collaborations on tours and record.

This song especially is beyond critics!
Great lyrics, guitars with awesome voice - great liveband!
PS
quote chyk5: "bad even by pearl jam standards" .
Do not be RIDICULOUS!!!
FYI that was rp1125, not me. This song is great

Really?! I can take or leave Pearl Jam most days, but this song is one of their best.
My hero!
Definitely one of my favourite PJ tunes.
I'm reminded more of Drive by REM. Not hearing the PF angle.

Of course: the acoustic strumming with the intense soaring electric guitar, tight drumming, hypnotic base, spacey effects, heavy lyrics...
Think you got your wires crossed —- Nothing Floydy that I can detect.
