I really don't think Trump has an over-arching plan, nefarious or otherwise. He appears to operate on raw emotion, not calculation. He ran on a platform of shaking things up, right? Seemed like a good idea at the time...

By comparison, Putin does have a plan, and is executing it to perfection. With Trump's (hopefully unwitting) assistance.

I think he or someone in his camp does have a plan.  The plan is, max today's return, as NoEnz more or less summarized.

I think Trump trades on the fact that his opponents use a different yardstick to measure him on than the one used by his voter base.

Things like reason, fairness, equity and so on, long-standing relationships of trust and mutual respect (take that Canada!) - none of these things appear on his moral compass.

It is easy to write him off as an infantile truant, but his agenda might be far more nefarious: he is buying domestic popularity by running up a huge government deficit to secure his home base, then by ridiculing the values on which western society is based he undermines the moral authority shoring up most other democracies, paving the way for xenophobic governments to be installed elsewhere, parties that renege on multilateral deals (Brexit for example). This is exactly the same agenda btw as Putin who would love to see the EU dismantled. Then once you have broken down your opposition into manageable bits you can dominate the playing field just by sheer size.

- Or he just does want to smash everything because kaboom.

Nobody wants him to fail with North Korea, remember that. It's a little like watching a drunk guy in a canoe trying to rescue a cat tho... We think the odds of disaster are really high.

And yet your media hacks still go at it.

Trump will do for the liberal media what Obama did for coal.

I have seen at least half of the items in the list posted here as fact and left uncorrected and even worse, wholly believed by the posters
as 100% true and much of the basis for their own beliefs about Trump as they are brought again when challenged, as established facts.
The bolded is completely spot on.  However, the liberal media is not at the mercy of market forces like coal.  Their political ties will keep them alive
as long as their political allies are able to cling to their power.  A suicide pact, if only we could be so lucky ...
