This song has a real 1960s French Yé-Yé vibe, like Jacques Dutronc's "Et moi, et moi, et moi."
Wat een leuke versie is dit!
OK, 1. I like the “other” version better, and 2. Why does the Music Search show the other version as being on Speaking in Tongues instead of 77?
This is an example of the awesome and cutting edge stuff that was going on in the NYC area back in the day. This version was recorded live at the WLIR radio studio back in 1978, not far from where I live. We got to see and listen to great bands before they became famous, like U2 (WLIR sponsored them playing at the Malibu nite club (again not far from where I live).

See I have a different problem [bokbokbokbok] every time it starts playing I start singing PSYCHO CHICKEN [Rooster crow] by the Fools.

One of those bands that makes me PSD every time!
I seem to be the only one having a big problem with David Byrne's voice?

First time I saw this band was in '78 in Davis, CA for $1. This is the sound I remember from that gig. Amazing.
I wonder if I'm the only person who thinks of Fraggle Rock when they hear the intro to this song.

LOL. Thanks, I needed that.
I really like the early TH sound but then I also like the later sound. The intervening period is also excellent.

Sept '78 1st year university and just met my roommate, a farm boy from small town Ontario. Failing to read the room I enthusiastically played this song. He wasn't keen to say the least - but I stil very much am.

Wow, I thought I'd heard all the versions. Godlike of course.
Pretty solid

Wow, love this alternate version. The longer intro is glorious. Version has a bit of rawness which I'm digging as well. Tina kills it regardless of the version so always going to be a winner on that front.
Pardon me, i have nothing to say.

Ya, and I admit that this version is growing on me. The raw sound and Tina Weymouth’s intense bass playing is doing it for me today.
