I know what the internet is telling us is skewed to the agenda of the people posting about all sorts of things.  Please double check your research - as a UK citizen with some very outspoken views, politically and otherwise, this is simply not true.

This is a beautiful song but it does have hints of paranoia in the lyrics.  I'm not so sure any of our current situation feels like the end.  Politics aside, people will always disagree with each other and that's just what people do.  I went from a bible-thumping evangelical Christian to a bible-quoting Atheist.  I've seen both sides.

The most important thing is that we, as humans, continue to disagree without resorting to violence.  We can always work things out for the betterment of everyone.

We as humans have never historically been able to disagree without resorting to violence. Mostly because the people who fight and die in wars aren't the ones who started them - that will be the politicians, safe in their ivory towers - unfortunately.
I emigrated from old blighty to NZ 17 years ago, my kids grew up here. We've never been back, it was getting pretty unaffordable and unfriendly when we left, I am not sure I would recognize it if we went back, it is certainly not home anymore. I am not sure if any country is, home is where my Wife and Kids are, that could be anywhere, I guess.
Timely tune. Love the cover art.
A beautiful, awful, song.

That may be true that we 'can always work things out' but history frequently shows that synthesis leads back to the same old problem.  US
Read the lyrics. It's quite obvious what he's signing about, with lines like -
"When we can't even agree on what was said"

When there is literally audio and video evidence of what was said... and a certain faction of people still go into denial or making excuses mode.

Sad.
