The sky is burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
You are, I'm learnin'
The key to my desire
Waiting for the van to arrive
The prisoners were lined up outside
Jumped a wall, hitched a ride, and now I'm here to stay
Love you, baby, anyway, oh yeah
The sky is burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
You are, I'm learnin'
The key to my desire
Ran across the country fields in all the rain
They had guns and dogs and everything
Swam the river tryin' to lose my trail
But they caught me under the bridge, oh yeah
The sky is burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
You are, I'm learnin'
The key to my desire, oh yeah
Oh yeah
The sky is burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
You are, I am learnin'
The key to my desire
The judge said, "This man's a danger to humanity
We're gonna lock him up and throw away the key"
Now baby, your love has sent me to jail
But I'd rather die than see you with another man
Yeah, it's burnin', baby, mm-mmm
I believe my soul's on fire
I believe my soul's on fire
Workin' on the railroad every day
But they can't keep me here
And I'm not gonna stay
I've got to get out of this place
Out to see you, baby
Yeah, it's burnin'
Yeah, it's burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
Keep on burnin'
Ah, yeah, ah, oh
Keep on burnin'
I believe my soul's on fire
You are, I'm learnin'
The key to my desire
Waiting for the van to arrive
The prisoners were lined up outside
Jumped a wall, hitched a ride, and now I'm here to stay

1975, the high school library, where me & Surette & Roach were s'posed to be listening to cassette tape audio books on those plastic tubed, monoraul headsets during study hall. Instead, Bad Company replaced what ever dullness we perceived from the author, piped in and sounding tinny and surely illegal, but pure rock as far as we were concerned, as our heads bobbed in time. Ms Gilson, the librarian's assistant, walked past slowly and pressed her sshh finger to lips and smiled. Our 15 year old hearts fluttered in time with the music. Nearly 50 years ago but clear as a bell.
Guns and dogs and everything…awesome to hear this classic on RP!
Old Skool rawk. And nothing wrong with that!
