"Quartet" is a singular noun, so it should be "DakhaBrakha is..." not "are." Bill, I'll let you off with just a warning this time. - The Grammar Police
Wow, kills me every time
I've got VIP tickets to the upcoming Nick Cave show and tickets to DakhaBrakha and I'm not sure which I'm looking forward to more.
Файна пісенька, душа радіє )
Just saw them live last month, and was excited to do so after hearing them here. They are fantastic live. Exactly the genre stretching stuff I come to Radio Paradise for and enjoy.

You're probably not a big fan of drum solos, either. I'mma tell Bill Bruford on you!!!!
I appreciate what they are doing, but I can't listen to one chord for seven minutes

EXCELLENT TUNE! Thanx RP!
Gets several points just for the term Ethno-chaos. I've never heard a more apt term.

This is a horrible translation. It's and old Ukrainian folk songs with the words are old Slavic and aren't being used today. This is a song about spring.
Translation from DeepL is really strange:
Oh, freckles, where's your daughter?
She's chased the bulls out of the gate
Graze, bulls, I'm thirsty for mice,
For my darling's mittens
Oh, spring, you're beautiful,
And what a stench you've given us.
I've smelled it, I've smelled it,
The three good things of joy,
Three goodies, three goodies
And one good thing about shepherdesses
And one good for the shepherdesses
The other one's a shepherd
The second use of a cow
The third use of a cowgirl
And the ploughman ploughs and sows
And the cowherd weaves, weaves
Translated with DeepL
But I like the music

Saw them live and they were very interesting. Not something I would listen to on a regular basis however.
I remember their performance in Koktebel, in pre-annexation Crimea, 2010. Those were peaceful times!
Love the buildup in the beginning of the song. The vocal interplay. The accordion. Wow. I appreciate it's not a song which will be to everyone's liking but to me this is fantastic stuff.
Very strange lyrics ...
WOO HOO,...
me like , just don't accidentally follow it up with 'Bolero' and you are good.
such Musical FUN, play it again please...

Go see them live if you can, they're incredible!
love it!
Thanks Bill for ukrainian music on RP. But DakhaBrakha not the only ukrainian artist / Дякую, Біл, за українську музику на RP, але ДахаБраха не єдині українські виконавці.

Now this is something eclectic and new to me. Going to wait until I hear it again before rating.

OK. Now I have to figure out a way to incorporate this into one of my spin class playlists. Maybe with something by The Hu?
