This is a real problem for me -separating the art from the artist. The controversy played out on the comments boards  has everything to do with the artist. The song's stong - can't honestly hide behind a username and pretend it's not great.

I agree. He’s awesome. I am European and been listening to him for over 20 odd years. I don’t always understand the lyrics but when I do it’s profound, meaningful, poetic, often political. 
I had the impression he was from the Basque region in Spain.

Nice to hear another cut by Manu Chao.  Haven't heard anything but one other song of theirs but knew this was them right away due to their unique sound - fun, breezy...bit of Caribbean/Reggae
