How this isn't higher than a 7 is baffling. perfect words for our age ladies and gents
Labour Day weekend 2008. Came home late Saturday night to find my cat dying. Emergency vet cost me $400 to have him put down. Once back home again I smoked big bowl, and went out to ride my bike for hours through the streets of a still-new-to-me town, crying and just feeling like shit. At one point I stopped and looked through a FREE box of left over garage sale rejects. Only thing that caught my eye was a copy of Cracker's 'Garage D'Or' greatest hits collection. I'd never heard of them, but it seemed a fitting title to grab on a "what the hell?" whim. Great album as this song attests. Fun, wry, good guitar grinds. One good thing from an otherwise absolutely shit night.
My dearly-departed Dad and I were in the same situation with the family cat about the same era. Gloom and empathy abounded, but my Dad had seen a lot of hard times. He knew how to lighten some of the darkest moments. After spending time with Max the cat in a crowded waiting room, it was finally our turn. When quoted the $400 fee, my Dad exclaimed in his booming voice "$400!? For that price I could have my aunt put down!"
before I die, I gotta see these guys in concert
We what also needs is a Play It Again button. I heard less than half of it, for the first time ever, and I want an encore, dammit. Right now. Hint.
Yes, RP could use a "play it again" button!
maybe go on the road in summer 2023
Back in the early 2000s I showed up to a small bar near Charleston South Carolina where Cracker was scheduled to play. My friend and I were playing pool when David walked up and asked if he could join us. For the next 30 minutes whe share some beers and have great conversations about random things. You are correct - his sarcasm is spot on. He uses the sarcasm to be funny and rarely does he take himself seriously. A great guy - and certainly a talented songwriter and musician.
Dude, so who won at pool?
No resemblance in style or content to any Burt Bacharach song. A soft pop-and-strings "What the world needs now is love sweet love" has no d.n.a in common with
And I don't know what the world may want
But your long sweet body lying next to mine
Could certainly
Raise my spirits
'Cause what the world needs now
Is a new Frank Sinatra
So I can get you in bed

Like la la la la la la la la-la
I think the released date is wrong; this is 2021 song. The world keeps needing those guys and more!
Wiki says 1992! I thought so!
Ăr det en surströmning pĂ„ omslĂ„get?
för guds skull, snÀlla gör det inte!
