You couldn't find a way to read my passion
You listen to the blood flow in my veins
You hear the teaching of the wind
To tell her what Im alive within
I cant find the words, my mind is dim

Its better by you, better than me

Guess, youll have to tell her how I tried
To speak the thoughts Ive held so long inside
Tell her now I've got to go
Out in the streets and down the shore
Tell her the worlds not much more living for

Its better by you, better than me

Its better by you, better than me
You can tell her what I want it to be
You can say what I only can see
Its better by you, better than me

Guess, Ill have to change my way of living
Wanna really know the way I feel
Guess, Ill learn to fight and kill, tell her not to wait until
Finds my blood upon her windowsill

Its better by you, better than me

Its better by you, better than me
You can tell her what I wanted it to be
You can say what I only can see
Its better by you, better than me

Its better by you, better than me
You can say what I can't see
Can tell her what I wanted it to be
Its better by you, better than me

Its better by you, you know, better than me
There you can say what they can't see

Wow, thank you for the time machine!  I'd add the band Man to that list - they were the loudest band I ever heard (and arguably responsible for my tinnitus!)

I think that accolade goes to The Edgar Broughton Band. You can add them to the list of great bands of the time as well as Taste.

Blowing Free is in the playlist

Spooky Tooth were essential listening by me and my school mates back in the day along with Colosseum, Ten Years After, The Nice, Soft Machine, Wishbone Ash, Barclay James Harvest, Budgie, Blodwyn Pig and The Groundhogs.

I hope those lesser known names bring back a few memories for British Blues/Rock fans back in late 1960's just before Led Zeppelin finished them all off and became the dominant band of that genre.

I was late to this particular party though I did get to see Wishbone Ash, Budgie and BJH several times - also love The Groundhogs, Thank Christ For The Bomb and Split especially.
Rightly or wrongly I did get to see Judas Priest cover this.
This is so bad. How in the world do the have a greatest hits album?

I don't agree to this opinion. As a concrete fan of LZ, they became members of my collection, nothing more. Every group named by you, had then their special moment, some more, some less. LZ belong to the first category.
PRIEST!

God bless the day returns when you can be ugly and make music.

I would love to hear some
Wishbone Ash on here :-)
Reminds me of  Eddie Vedder
I saw them live at the Asbury Park Convention Center in 1973. GREAT  show!
Roots of rock...   Great band.

The album is listed as "The Best of Spooky Tooth".    Hmmm.   I wonder how many albums they had to put out to get a Best Of... album??

I had to go look it up!
(Around 1970, I was the proud owner of a copy of "Ceremony" by Spooky Tooth. I used to crank that up when, 1) my parents weren't home, and 2) I was bored with my collection of Jefferson Airplane and Dylan and etc.).
It turns out Spooky Tooth had 8 albums out in 1975!
BTW, maybe you had to be there, but this rocks!
Thanks again, Bill.   {#Meditate}

Loved this whole album when it first came out and still love it today, time to dust it off.....  Thanks for reminding me RP!

Had a spooky look'n tooth, really thin ankles and feet that flopped around during sex - she was obviously an alien {#Biggrin}
This is enough to make a bloke eat his young.

If he ankles were really thin and hers flopped around, it makes for terminal malleolus sex, does it not?

I see young Clive Owen in the upper left of that photo (kidding), Spooky Tooth is cool

Brings back lots of memories .... one of my favorite albums back in the day!  Thank You!
Wow, amazing, the connections among, through, and onward from this landmark band! Didn't consciously know the Dream Weaver/ Love Is Alive (a song I still love to crank and inspire myself well to!) guy was in this band back in the day, but sure do appreciate it all!

Sounds like Phantom of the Paradise...

Maybe in reverse - this album preceded that film by about five years.  Similar sound though.
I loved Spooky Tooth back in the day. There are many better Spooky Tooth songs than this. Fantasy Satisfier, Hell or High Water, I'm Alive The Mirror all are a lot better songs than this that Spooky Tooth did.

Interesting bit of rock history that I apparently missed back in the day.

It does not survive well though.
Not a *great* song but what an INCREDIBLE HOOK !!
just clicked in during the instrumental bit and I thought, Oh, Black Keys
very cool piece of rock history, and Extremely Cool photo gb72797, thanks for the treat!!!  (great film too!)
Sounds like Phantom of the Paradise...

Beef!

My God, this sucks.
Thanks for the resurrection! I haven't heard this one for decades. It's still fun music! THANKS...
Great group, great song!
wow!  I only know the Judas Priest version... never realized it was a cover
Wow, this was one of my favorite albums WAY back when. They were one of the first "hard" rock groups. GREAT stuff... Thanks
One of the best groups in its own time and that it is a lot to say considering the huge amount of musical options at the end of the 60's.

revisiting stealing my sister's albums...and I stacked them. she hated that!!!
Sounds a bit like Free to my ear.
