Nostalgia...

Tram wires cross Melbourne skies
Cut my red heart in two
My knuckles bleed down Johnston street
On a door that shouldn't be in front of me

Twelve thousand miles away from your smile
I'm twelve thousand miles away from me
Standing on the corner of Brunswick
Got the rain coming down and mascara on my cheek

Oh whisper me words in the shape of a bay
Shelter my love from the wind and the rain

Crow fly be my alibi
And return this fable on your wing
Take it far away to where gypsies play
Beneath metal stars by the bridge

Oh write me a beacon so I know the way
Guide my love through night and through day

Only the sunset knows my blind desire for the fleeting
Only the moon understands the beauty of love
When held by a hand like the aura of nostalgia

The theme from the UK TV show "Wallander" is a re-recording of this song "Nostalgia". (see Wikipedia: "Emily Barker")

Ah, right, thanks for that wee snippet of info. I thought that i vaguely recognised the tune. For more info, the "UK TV show" is an English-language remake, starring the excellent Kenneth Branagh, of the Swedish original series, itself based on the novels by Henning Mankell.

I can't understand the seriously negative comments on this song. At worst it's bland an inoffensive, I'd have thought. I love both the instrumentals and voice, both of which are transporting me to another dimension. 8 from the enraptured Nottingham jury.
This is a great song!  I am not shocked by the negative comments, just surprised.  Nevertheless, I hope they put out more than the two songs they have.

I'm no-one and this is horrible.
Please, someone hit the PSD button, quickly!!!
Surely no-one likes this, do they?
Who sat on whose dead cat?

nails on a chalkboard.

I found out about this song and artist after watching that amazing series on Netflix.  I had been searching for that version but couldn't find it, so I went ahead and uploaded the album version.  Wasn't quite expecting it to be insta-added, but hey, I'm not complaining!  I could see how the vocals could be a bit grating in that middle part but it's rather brief and I like the rest; I hope RP does too!

Oh, thank you! I've loved this song, and EB since hearing this on Wallander.

Caterwauling indeed! Ouch. That voice is a definite miss. Had to pull the earphones. {#Doh}
...this is really cool...

...it strays a bit into cauterwauling lamentation, but it's cool; i like it...
