Listening to this I feel like I'm on some adventure in a place such as Morocco.  Evocative.

Greetings from Ankara :)

Felt the same emotion when I first heard the song.

Reminds me a bit of that one Loreena McKennitt song that's in regular rotation on RP... is it "The Gates of Istanbul"?

Can't pinpoint what the similarity is, maybe it's a riff or the key the song is in.

Agreed, but this track has the distinct advantage of Loreena not singing on it.

Any relation to Jimmy Spheeris of the Isle of View album from the 70's

That's actually his cousin. Very musical family it seems.

McKennitt goes fairly Middle Eastern/Mediterranean on a lot of her songs too tho.
A bit reminiscent of the solo in Within You And Without you in places.

He's Greek American, so you are right. But I get the Celtic vibe as well.
15 years old? Ageless! Thank Your RP!
Thank you RP for introducing me to such an eclectic music mix.

He actually sings on some compositions. Check out "Where the Angels Fly" on his 1988 release.
Thanks for re-introducing me to Chris!!

I have "Pathways to Surrender" from the 80's - an excellent album, but was not aware of any of his subsequent work - apparently he was very prolific in the 90's - 8 releases!
