Well sunrise in the land of the pharaohs
I see my broken arrows
Scattered 'cross the plain.
Well sunrise on the river in the city
I'm feeling pretty shitty
In the wreckage of my life.
So if you want to live;
Let's live together
In bows and feathers.
And find my decadence
And if you want to dare
Well we can take that long road
Cause dying is easy,
It's living that's hard.
Well sunrise in the land of milk and honey
She says "My little bunny
Is this all that there is?"
Well sunrise in the land of southern idols
Lines and hotel bibles
And fallen debutantes
So if you want to see what's in the shadows:
The burning meadows
Of our apocalypse
I dream of fallow fields
I dream of winter
Cause dying is easy,
It's living that's hard.
I see my broken arrows
Scattered 'cross the plain.
Well sunrise on the river in the city
I'm feeling pretty shitty
In the wreckage of my life.
So if you want to live;

Something about this song that just fills me with adrenaline and makes me want to go out and have a crazy night. It makes me so happy and reminds me of my youth (even though I hadn't heard this song until well into my 30s).
I dont know why, but when i hear this band i feel how could i say... like i was twenty years old, yes twenty. And it's so good.
Cracker pulls in a huge crowd!
Bump to 9

Anyone else thinks it's Nada Surf every time this comes on?
Good tune though, just riffs ate totally Nada, or vice versa :-)

The riff sounds like 'Strangelove' by Depeche Mode through a rock lens
If Cracker and Basement Jax collaborated the band would be Cracker Jax...

I had an email discussion about artist royalties with the good Dr. Lowrey and he tagged me with the label "blood sucking capitalist".
Don't get me wrong. I'm very much in favor of artists getting paid - and paying the licensing agencies is by far our largest monthly budget item - but I guess I failed to toe his party line quite well enough.
Oh well. He's not the only one of my favorite songwriters I wouldn't want over for dinner.

Pretty good song after the nice one My Morning Jacket!

Must be late Friday afternoon. Last few tunes have been quite upbeat.....
There is something about THIS SONG, TURNED WAY UP AS LOUD AS IT GOES! and hell yes, if you EVER get the chance, SEE CRACKER LIVE; nothing on Earth quite like it! Wanna die and go to Rock n Roll Heaven? Go and stand in front of Johnny Hickman, and drink and chat with him after the show! Go, Johnny, go! HELL YEAH we're glad he calls the big Front Range his Rocking Mountain home!

Still one of the best LIVE-BANDS - with a big collection of incredible songs!
10 for CRACKER - always!
I wish Bill had the same Jones for the Jayhawks as he does for Cracker.

What a bizarre place for a concert! In "This Is Spinal Tap," you know the band has fallen on hard times when they're booked at an amusement park, but a crepe restaurant is about as low profile as you can get. I'm sure they'll put on a good show and the audience can order some delicious crepes while the band plays.
The Crepe Place is one of the venues that CvB played at regularly back in the early '80s when they were local faves in Santa Cruz. A cool — albiet small — joint, and no doubt a nostaligia booking for the band.

Camper Van Beethoven is playing two sold out shows at The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz - tickets went like hot cakes. Or crepes. Sad to be missing the show, I think their music area fits about 50 people...

Great guitar line in this song. This is probably the only Cracker album that I don't own. Looks like I need to rectify that.

Boy - there are a lot of Cracker songs in the RP library! The more I hear of them, the more I like them (and yes, I know I say that repeatedly, but it's true!) I fear I shall have to sell some property to get enough money to buy all the CDs I want. Cool that RP has already provided me with a shopping list!
I like Cracker, wish you would play some of their good songs, not this one please.

Great lyrics and rock-a-licious tune.
Definitely growing on me since my fist listen.
One of the rockingest opening blasts of music ever. Rest of song is pretty good to.

PS
Some say "Cracker's back"
Cracker was NEVER gone!
But always exellent!

My little Budgie loves to sing along w/this song. He is totally awake and jabbering! But you should hear him sing along to the Dead or Radiohead. Just like his mama, they are our rockblood.

Nice album cover, until I noticed the shadow. What is that even supposed to be? How would the word "Cracker" cast a shadow at their feet with the sun behind their heads?
