lol! I just missed this song, so I thought I would play it from my own library - only to find its not there. Impossible - I have all beatles! So, it seems I forgot to load anthology 2 disc 2. I'll do that now.
This is a great version, better than what some call the 'original' off Let It Be - which was not at all the original!
The first-released version was on a benefit album for the World Wildlife Fund called No One's Gonna Change Our World, released in 1969, well before Let It Be and its over-orchestrated, heavenly-choired, Phil Spectorized (but still enticing) version. The real original has bird-chirping wildlife sound effects that add to its charm, though other versions have really cool backwards guitar and sitar effects, and the version on Let It Be... Naked is essentially a stripped-down and much better Let It Be version. I'd guess Lennon never felt completely satisfied with it.
A great song, in any form sung by John Lennon.

I definitely recommend it. I was scared--I love The Beatles so much, I was afraid I would hate the reimagining of their music. However, I found it to be very creative and enjoyable.
I actually learned this song on the guitar before I ever heard the Beatles perform it (had the big "Complete" songbook). It was magical even in my inexpert hands.

I think it's coming out on DVD soon. I added it to my Netflix list.

Somehow this song has been gaining strength down the years. It is a brilliant example of simplicity and complexity in one piece. Shows Lennon for the genius that he was, an exception to the overuse of the word genius.
Can't say I've even heard of it.

Amazing. Old tune but still has this magical quality that compels one to listen.
Nothin's gonna change MY world!

I like to hear the slightly different versions instead of the originals.

The words are in Sanskrit, and they mean "I give thanks to Guru Dev," who was the teacher of The Maharishi.
