We're gonna have a baby
Taking off in a coupe De ville
She buckled up on navy
She don't care what her mama said, no
She's gonna have my baby
I'm taking all i have to take
This takings gonna shape me
People call us renegades
'cause we like living crazy
We like taking on the town
Some people getting lazy
I don't care what nobody says, no
I'm going to be her lover
Always mad and usually drunk
But I love her like no other
And the doctor seems to say he don't know
Where we're gonna go?
I'm a ghost and I don't think I quite know
Where we're gonna go?
Where we're gonna go?
People call us renegades
Feel like we're living crazy
We like taking on the town
Some people getting lazy
I don't care what nobody says, no

I'm a ghost and I don't think I quite know
Where we're gonna go?
Where we're gonna go?
Where we're gonna go?
Where we're gonna go?
Where?
They gonna call us renegades, woah, oh, oh
Feel like we're living on this town, woah, oh, oh
Woah, oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
And I don't care if you don't win
I don't care what nobody says
We're gonna have a baby
Taking off in a coupe De ville
She buckled up on navy
She don't care what her mama said, no
She's gonna have my baby
I'm taking all I have to take

Woah, oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
Repetitive and boring with terrible vocals. And it drags in for almost 7 painful minutes. Awful stuff.
Solid 1.
Listen for more y
than 90 seconds if your crack brain can handle it
Jeez, I wandered off after this started, made a cup of coffee, read some of the paper, and came back - and they still haven't had that baby?!

What ever happened to these guys?
Coming out with a new album May 10th of this year.
"Can we please have fun"
"Where do these low ratings come from" Maybe the lyrics?
Drinking and babies don't go together (solid 1). I'm a simpleton though and take words literally, so likely missed the point. I love the bell and sound of this song though.
One of their best in my estimation.
Many of their songs are stories. I love the mood and dream-like quality of this story.
A certain amount of ambiguity provides space for individual listeners to fill in the gaps with their own imaginations, or experiences, or emotions. The amount of ambiguity here works for me.
Musically it's outstanding. When you consider that the instruments used (two guitars, a bass, and drums) are essentially the industry standard arrangement, yet they consistently manage to create songs that don't sound like the thousands of other groups using the same bits and pieces. Their unique sound isn't in elaborate effects or studio processing, it's just in how, and what, they play, and sing.
love this. very well said.
Family, doing what they do, making music, and doing that so well.
They'll be doing that until it's time to stop.

Solid 1.
agreed!
Solid 1.
oddly cool timing.
and OFF come the headphones
agreed, had to switch over to the big daddy stereo (1100wpc or so, but who's counting) and turn it UP
and HOLY COW I just noticed all four band members are brothers!!!!
Three brothers and a cousin.
OK not worth the mention though...
Verily. For on the fifth day the RP gods did codeth the PSD button and, Lo, it was good and right and just and easy.
Hmmm. Sounds like a 14 year old with some talent showing his respect for The Boss by doing his version of I’m On Fire
Only if that 14-year-old is smoking a pack of cigarettes a day or sumthin'
I have tried to like this band but Kings of Leon, along with Cloud Cult...nope nope nope. I no longer rate either of these bands...Bill likes them (?) and there's a lot of favorable comments. The problem is: I like other bands, no matter how weird, than these 2.
...meanwhile, back at the ranch.....
Sorry, not a huge KoL fan....
OK not worth the mention though...
Love KoL! This is a 9 for me.
People who give this a low rating are evidently frozen stiff!
Isn't that sort of your default?
this song is so weird.
Exactly!

After years, it's so true...
Love KoL! This is a 9 for me.
Jedley, it's 12 years after you posted this comment and we all took your advice and gave the Kings a chance. Many folks appreciated their work, and they received many accolades. Never registered with me, though. Funny how that happens. Cheers to all.
