Left Bank

Left bank, I'm waiting for someone
Someone to be my friend
Outside, traffic's running slowly
I hear it from my window

Without you, I'm getting lost
Without you, there's no release
I can't hold the sun
I can't hold the sun

It's raining, love is not around me
How can it get so cold?
Homesick, this is how I feel now
This is how you left me

Without you, I'm getting lost
Without you, there's no release
I can't hold the sun
I can't hold the sun

Without you, I'm getting lost
Without you, there's no release
I can't hold the sun
I can't hold the sun

Probably because they're both FANTASTIC.

Or as I refer to them (plus Jose Gonzales): THE HOLY TRINITY.
Nothing hits quite like these guys. They were definitely on my personal rotation around the turn of the millennium. So good.
Not to be confused with The Left Banke

The vocals sound like Sean Lennon.

I really like this; I need to remember this track by Air.
Ah, la Rive Gauche. Patron: un Pernod et un pacquet de Gauloises, s'il vous plait. Je voudrais discuter de Sartre, Althusser, de Beauvoir, Camus et les autres Français célèbres, avec mes amies intellectuelles. {#Cool}
Thought this was going to be Nick Drake's Things Behind The Sun... might make a good couple Bill. :)  Oh, and maybe Alexi M's Breathe - I can hear them all together. Just a thought... :)
Why did I think this was the Stones at the start?

edit;  oops, my colleague from Utah picked this out a little while ago.

Mumford and Sons can't hold a candle up to Air in terms of sheer creativity and diversity, musicianship, awesomeness, un-lameness, etc. Did I mention, Mumford and Sons suck?

I was making a joke (albeit, a bad one). Note the "spinning propeller" icon - an attempt to indicate facetious irony.  For a while any song that had an acoustic guitar and a banjo or fiddle was deemed to "sound like Mumford & Sons" in these threads - I was just working that up.
 {#Propeller}
This is so surreal ...  :)
this song based on a real story: "This is a song I wrote in a hotel room after a lovely weekend with a girl. And then Monday morning she left without saying a word and I wrote it on my guitar, very simple. Crazy French girls!"

Nena - 99 Luftballons >> Air - Left Bank

I thought that was outrageous! Worked on so many levels. I really do love this station.

Oh the song is good too :)

My girlfriend is big fan. Music is alternatively relaxing and stirring and great for when we are just cleaning up around the apartment. They should however have more guest vocalists who often enhance their tunes.

I'm not turned off by it, but it strikes me as a similar reaction I have to movies that have more special/computer effects than plot. It's kind of a "hey, we can make these really cool computer effects, let's make a movie" (300), or in this case an album cover. Wizzuvv_oz wrote:

I'm not really turned off by it although somewhere it reminds me a little of one of those michael jackson statues. Can't remember when, but at some point in time MJ was going over the world donating statues of himself to some mcDonalds restaurants I believe (no, not ronald mcDonald ;)) As far as self absorbed goes that's got to rank up there with the likes of kim yong il and other assorted "glorious Leaders".

I got no beef with it...looks like the fella on the left's conducting a pocket symphony with his hand, too. Pretty good tune...I've caught most of this album's tracks on a late-night radio show and haven't been disappointed yet. Probably time to buy.

Meh, I think the cover art is pretty cool. It is a nice use of Photoshop filters.

Am I the only one who hears the similarities between the opening of this, and Jose Gonzales' Heartbeats cover?

We found this album took a couple listens to grown on us. There's no "Cherry Blossom Girl" or super-catchy songs, but it's consistent and nice background music.

It's been 9 years since their last awesome album. This sounds just a tab (more like a ton) of one Mr. Sufjan Stevens
