I was lucky enough to see Roy O in concert here in Florida just a few years before he passed away. The theatre is called, Ruth Eckert Hall in St. Petersburg and was a small, very nice place.
I sat in the fourth row and was mesmerized by Roy's voice. He got a standing ovation for every song and he never missed a beat, never changed the way the songs were recorded like some musicians do live.
I feel blessed to have been at his concert and am always sad every time I hear one of his songs. Roy's life apparently was filled with heartache and loss and I think if you listen hard enough, you can hear it in some of his songs.

No, not one of my favorite songs either, but Roy Orbison is a unique, classic. He will grow on you if you give him a chance.

This song is proof that I won't give a song a 1 no matter what. Frankly, if this song isn't worthy of a 1, I'm sure I haven't heard one that is. Oh well, still I 2 just because "Sucko-Barfo" is so infantile.

I love Roy's music... although this isn't one of favorites it still rates an 8. IMHO one of the best singers ever!

Elvis often said there was one truly great white American singer -- guess who he was talking about... Roy Orbison. Elvis worshipped him, and you can easily hear why.
Nobody did it better, and he had a mighty humble heart behind that incredible voice. He wrote quite a few songs other people built their careers on, too...
