And the wise man say, "I don't want to hear your voice"
And the thin man say, "I don't want to hear your voice"
And they're cursing me, and they won't let me be
And there's nothing to say, and there's nothing to do
Stop whispering, start shouting
Stop whispering, start shouting
And the mother say, "We spit on your son some more"
And the buildings say, "We spit on your face some more"
And the feeling is that there's something wrong
Because I can't find the words and I can't find the songs
Stop whispering, start shouting
Stop whispering, start shouting
Dear Sir, I have a complaint
Can't remember what it is
Dear Sir, I have a complaint
Can't remember what it is
It doesn't matter anyway
It doesn't matter anyway
Stop whispering
Stop whispering
Stop whispering
Stop whispering, start shouting
And the thin man say, "I don't want to hear your voice"
And they're cursing me, and they won't let me be

The problem with allot of diehard Rh fans is that they take their work to be way too serious. Profound! Yes it is, but they also have a pretty vast catalog spanning decades of experimental change. Not every artist is a master with their first offering. They have periods of different directions. Thom will be the first to tell you that they are artists first and entertainers second, and thus everyone experiences their work differently. If you are a true fan you should appreciate and respect all of their output...even anyone can play guitar and Creep...LOL

Just wanted to comment on the comments... Learned something while browsing after a working microwave supper... You can go an look at comments and ratings for other people
Only discovered this due to the hard time being given to Tux - who is obviously a die-hard anti-fan of RH and U2 - and gets enthusiastic in his negativity!!
What an amazing place this is - though it's sometimes hard to believe we're all here for the music given the venom that goes into some posts. To paraphrase - Listen and Let Listen!!
LLRP and the variety of ears and opinions that follow BillBecca

What a lovely bit of nostalgia. Haven't heard this for ages.
Thanks for letting me know what i missed.
brings me back to college... No haters. Listen to this album then move onto Kid A and In Rainbows. This band can do a lot... more than most!
This is just, kind of, generic Radiohead.
1994 Record label executives are saying to themselves:
hmm The lads might have a future ahead of them this sounds like a hit
hmm The lads might have a future ahead of them this sounds like a hit
Total channeling of U2
What an interesting segue from Philip Glass's "Anthem 1" from Powaqqatsi.

Hah, that is funny how all the non-fans of Radiohead like this song, and as a fan of Radiohead I am not very fond of this song.

I'm listening unfiltered at home and cannot find any difference improvement against anything I have already heard from Radiohead. This sucks just as bad. It is just another U2 clone. It should not have been. I gratefully add my 1 rating to this record.

What? The time when this Creep actually tried to sing, instead of the usual moaning business.
Yes, I know they're not really that similar, but this radiohead cover always reminds me of this:

Sounds almost like U2
Great song. The remix improves on the original, I think. I found Pablo Honey early on and loved them from then in. I just don't understand them any more, though ...
garbage, to go with all the garbage today... gezz...
Some people don't "get" Radiohead.
A friend thought "The Bends" was just noise.
Quite sad really, because they are truly missing out.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy......Adds To an already lovely day
Well if that isn't the damndest damn thing. A RH song I actually liked without having to rationalize myself into liking it. A ringing, rousing track that induces me to lean closer and dig in dig it. The lyrics are not quite rousing and happy -- it IS Radiohead, after all -- but the music takes me to a place I think no other RH has ever taken me. Damn.
stop whispering...
START SHOUTING!!!!!

'S right, Thom - the thin man don't wanna hear your voice, the fat man don't wanna hear your voice, and the Nottingham jury sure don't wanna hear your voice. Oh, to meet you in person with a wet fish in my hand...

"Ohhh, Radiohead. Sometimes they give me a headache, but this song is just wonderful..."
i agree completely.
and this version is very interesting, although i have to say that the original is better. done with a haunting intensity that gives me goosebumps each time i hear it.

Brilliant. Bring on the banana heads who say Thom can't sing.
I'm not whispering. I'm yawning.
Nice!

This can stand with any of their best. I liked this album (Pablo Honey) when it came out, especially this one. I would take this over Kid A any day of the week.

I think they did it on that "Seven television commercials" DVD (or whatever it was called). Which is well worth watching if you are a fan.

Great song.
In the tone of "Let Down" off of OK Computer... I like it a lot!
Acoustic guitars! Yup, it's old Radiohead. I love the new album, but they should pick up their traditional instruments more often.
Hey!
A Radiohead song I don't absolutely hate!!

hmm, to my recollection this version doesn't sound that different... maybe just a bit more polished/produced - and that synth keyboard sounding bit at the end seems out of place, but otherwise the same.
Oh, now I AM happy. From Nirvana 'til now... great set!

EDIT: Haha, I feel smart now. Apparently the playlist just didn't update; the song that's playing now is Pink Floyd's "Sheep".
If it makes you feel any better, my player says it's "Sheep", the website is *still* claiming it's this song, but the music coming out is unquestionably Bono *g*. Something isn't quite right...

This is actually off of Pablo Honey and this Import E.P.-C.D. Click on the Amazon link on the top of the page, and it'll take you to this E.P.

This sounds nothing like U2. For once it doesn't have the "stadium" guitar sound of the EDGE. Yorke actually sings on this song. Nice!

In general, I prefer the first two albums from Radiohead than the rest, despite everybody's opinion.

Noooooo! I complain about every Radiohead song, they are just so god awful. This one isn't as bad as the rest though.
not usually a fan, though I like this song

Based on the "Show song comments" results, I wouldn't say in balance. While there are some genuinely positive comments, you seem to lean towards the negative more often than the inverse. You also seem to take a pretty snappy tone with people pretty quickly. Other than that, you obviously like more here than you dislike based on your voting results. Eh, whatever I guess. Not even sure why I went to look.
wow! this is one of the greatest songs of their first album....great memories listening to it....

This is a great version. But it's not the original "Pablo Honey" version. Anyone know the story?

A U2 clone? When U2 puts out albums like Kid A or Amnesiac give me a call. Until then
