One of my favourite bands since I discovered them in high school in the 80s. Was hooked after I saw them live on the Sparkle in the Rain tour. More Simple Minds, please!

1985 - I was a socially anxious sophomore at a big university. I preferred sitting in my room listening to music over frat parties. This cassette got played from beginning to end many times.

I took my 'little' sister to see Simple Minds in the early 90's at the iconic old Wembley Stadium in London before they tore it down. She didn't really enjoy it - Simple Minds wasn't her thing. Not mine either really but I was given the tickets :-). It's a precious memory though as it was the last thing we did together before she was killed the following year
Just a well constructed, catchy pop song; everything is in it's right place. I just love the arrangements.

Gawd - I *so* disagree. Only my opinion (and also my wife's), but it would be OK if we never heard this one again. 80s synths were OK at the time, but there's SO much good contemporary music out there to listen to...

New Gold Dream is a classic album, and has much better songs than this one.
this may not be a classic but i love this album, came during my prime college years, so has sentimental value to me.

It is overproduced, and Sparkle in the Rain and others may be better albums, but this is still enjoyable and energetic.
This could have stayed on the shelf . I agree, it is not a classic.
Not everything old is a classic. This could not sound any more dated.
I'm not a huge Simple Minds fan, but I certainly prefer this to the syrupy Breakfast Club ditty.
